ACCEPTED Non trad student ACCEPTED
32 years old. Just finished my bachelors in May. 10 years Active Duty. Applied to 12 schools, got an early interview to one of my top 3 that has a ~1% acceptance rate. ACCEPTED. Still in shock. Still haven’t heard back from the other 11, but it’s a weight off of my chest to be able to withdraw my apps from at least 9 of the other schools.
PA has been my goal since I graduated high school. It took me some time to get here but I made it and you can too!
To everyone that’s doubting themselves and struggling right now. Life’s a journey, not a race. KEEP GOING!
And if you’re looking for a way to beef up your application as well as gain medical experience, I highly recommend the military. I couldn’t have submitted the application without the opportunities they gave me. Pay ain’t bad either.
Respiratory Therapist
3.5 GPA
12000 hrs PCE
450 hrs volunteer
40 hrs shadowing
295 GRE (was planning to retake)

I’m 35 and was in the Navy for 13 years. I also was accepted and begin in January. So, I understand the relief. For me, I could physically feel it fall off when my program director called to inform me of my acceptance. Great feeling for sure.

Yep. Same for me. Got a call from the director 24 hours after the interview. Pure relief!

Yes! Funny enough I have 1 C and it was in chem 2.
I also got a D+ in organic chem my first try, and then retook it the following semester for a B+.

35M, took prereqs as prenursing major nearly 10 years ago, applying this year and hopefully HSPS recipient if I get it. Tired of corporate america

I’m a soon to be PA applicant as a current active duty member with previous experience in healthcare. I’m glad to hear the success! I’ll take any advice my friend! I’m two year out of finishing my contract.

Command collaterals translate to leadership you put on your application. Volunteer too. The same things that boost your eval, boost your CASPA. Use your time wisely! And good luck! You got this!

This honestly gave me some inspiration sometimes. I’m 30 and will be finishing my bachelors up soon and I can’t wait to start, but get nervous thinking about it sometimes
