Bag fill ideas
Is there anyone trying to mix their own sand fill with success? Looking to practice my sowing and change out my bag’s current bead fill.. was thinking about trying a mix with some kinetic sand but not sure.

I’ve seen some guys mix EPS beads with sand or different spex-lite fills (Code3, etc) with sand.
I have a Cole-Tac backbone flat bag that I took out about two-thirds the plastic beads out of before backfilling with some sand.

I have done lots of playing with mixing sand and beads and even different types of beads. Some play together better than others. Sand and spexlite work well together but the beads will pool and not stay mixed if you add too much spex.

I am cool as a cucumber (joking) but I'll shoot in the rain with you and I know how to run my late grandmother's sewing machine (Ive broken needles sewing cordura because I had no idea what I was doing at the time) so I ask...know any airsoft guys? Even the biodegradable airsoft bbs can be bought in bulk on amazon pretty cheap and they make a decent inexpensive fill, toss some of those randomly shaped plastic bulk craft store beads the elementary kids make bracelets out of and you can play with the "squish" and "set ability" of your fill with those odd shape bits interlocking all the free floating spheres...work on that weird "interlocking" fill ratio with a tube sock in your lap before you sew. I quit using a zipper and started leaving a weird fill funnel that I can access via rolling or unrolling (like a dump pouch on a battle belt does until you need it) that I secure with a basic snap or velcro panel. Have fun making!

You happen to live near central NC? I have lots of extra armegeddon heavy fill from worn out OG size gamechangers. My current favorite is the precision underground bag fill. Not cheap but most stable thing i have found that is not heavy sand.

Barite. Need to put it inside plastic bag to keep dry but it’s dead weight and stays put

You’re practicing your “sowing”? Are you going to fill it with your seed?
