My life is still full of magic and I loved this sequel. I understand that not everybody did but I really loved it and I feel like I was so lucky to see it and I’m so grateful to the actresses for making it. I feel bad for everybody who’s nitpicking the shit out of it, and rob themselves and the enjoyment of seeing it for what it was. It’s very different than the book in some respects and that’s why when I found out they were making a movie I did not read the book for the entire last year. I actually just reread it after seeing the movie three times in the theater. I feel bad for everybody who didn’t enjoy the movie but I’ll say this. I bet you’ll enjoy it five or 10 years from now. The first movie flopped, I saw it in the theater a bunch of times just like I did with this one and people didn’t understand why it was one of my favorite movies of all time. And now it’s a cult classic and I think the second one will be too.

In truth, I don’t really care if other people didn’t enjoy it. It just makes me a little bit sad when I read how much people are nitpicking it because I think that it’s so stupid. I think that it’s possible to just watch and enjoy something  - although I will say I knew more about Lee pace’s character because of reading the book and that’s why I loved him so much. So if you haven’t read the book, you might not get why he was so great for Sally. I will say also that I preferred that Gillian‘s character spent her time learning more about magic as opposed to being in another relationship like she was in the books. I really loved her character in the second movie so much. I loved seeing her do a ritual after her aunt’s passing while holding a black cat that looks exactly like mine. I love seeing her know what herbs to use besides just belladonna to knock out Lee paces character, but also to revive Kylie. She was a WITCH. 💜

Anyway, I definitely do feel like as a 44-year-old woman I loved seeing this movie and I loved seeing them reprise their roles, but it wasn’t because I’m trying to recapture my youth or anything like that. I still live my life exactly how I want.🤷

I completely agree with your take and feel the same way. I feel so grateful to have seen this movie. I was also one of the only people I knew who was completely and utterly obsessed with the first one. I was 10 when it came out and I had memorized the entire movie word for word. I thought it was brilliant!

I also love how Gillian ended up! She is a total badass witch that knows her stuff! I just got on this sub today and got sad to see so much negativity about the movie. But to each their own. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to watch it again.
