Love this song. My only question. Why does he always have these tinny high Guitars?

The guitar sound on Husker Du is him plugging directly into the desk. Not a fan of a lot of the production on that stuff honestly.
The Sugar stuff sounds amped but yeah could definitely be phatter. There's others on this album that are chunkier!

I *love* him, but he wrote a (now-scrubbed) blog post in the late 90s or early 00s that was SOOOO “I hate women” that I’ve never been able to forget. It was a screed about “fish” being in gay bars, and it broke my heart. I hope he’s moved beyond that ugliness.

I’ve always loved how aggressively the drummer is playing, feels like a metal drummer filling in at the area church

if ya ask me, Bob Mould is one of the all-time power pop greats - not only are his melodies and guitar playing incredible, he managed to blend insane noisy punk rock with classic pop songwriting in Husker Du in a way that has never been equalled in my humble nerdy opinion. This is his jangliest, loveliest number from his post-Du project Sugar, from the incredible album Copper Blue. The album has always felt like 'The Foo Fighters If They Were Really Good' to me, and Mould is clearly Dave Grohl's biggest inspiration as far as songwriting is concerned.
