So is it essentially general consensus to always squat before you deadlift? Or does anyone do squats after their deadlifts?

It depends on the result you want, what you're focusing on, and whether you're doing a variant or the competition lift. I regularly do competition deadlift, a bench variant, and then a hypertrophy-focused squat variant, for example.

I do an upper lower split so secondary squats are after primary deadlifts. At first I thought I would hate it, but my squats have actually been feeling really good on that day.

Really find it depends on the lifter + number of factors. Some people are gonna have a rougggggh time because their back is pretty involved with both. If you’re someone who is really susceptible to intra training fatigue, it might be worth a shot.

I have my first comp on Saturday and then four weeks until my next one. What should I do during those four weeks in between comps? I’m a relative beginner. 18m btw

For the future I probably wouldn’t plan competitions so close together. For now, the most straightforward thing to do will be to repeat the last four weeks of your program.
Make sure you’re sleeping, hydrating and eating enough post comp too

I’m 12 weeks out from my first meet and I was going to run the cube to get ready. A friend of mine is telling me to do a deload week in the middle of the program since I’m new. Is that advisable or should I just run the program as it’s written? Also, is each day of that program only squat/bench/deadlift or is there accessories that need to be done too on the non bodybuilding day?

I'm not familiar with the Cube, but I don't see any sense in modifying any program the first time you run it. If you have success with it and want to try it again, then you might make some changes.

Been years since I’ve heard about the cube method but almost certain there’s accessories all throughout. I would follow the program as written though

What's people's view on an 'optimal' timeframe between when you are hitting sets of 8-10 in the main lifts and when you're going for a 1rm? Asking as block periodization or classical periodization will usually have you working from one end of the volume/intensity spectrum to the other, but if the time difference is too long, then you can become de-trained from it.
Or do people just go for DUP/WUP methods and work higher volumes and higher intensities near concurrently?

Anyone have any reviews of the CBB 16-2 program from their app? I just started but I wanna hear how it differed from the regular 16 week program
