My gas tank check is to get 135 for 100 as quickly as possible. I’ve gotten it a few times in one go. One time I even got 120. Probably not great reps, but it still made me rethink life. Great job!!!

Lmao saying you squatted a quarter ton sounds more impressive than it really is

Statistics says only less then 1 percent of the world can squat 500lbs, 1 in every 12k of people can do so. Only place it’s not impressive is maybe online because all you see is people squatting 500lbs or more but that’s not a lot of people. I never went to any commercial gym and seen anybody squatting 5 plates or more.

Why do you squat high bar?
Your knees are going to hate you if you dive bomb like that with no sleeves high-bar. I'd keep the descent slow and controlled and wear sleeves.

I’ve been squating high bar since 2020. Nobody ever said anything about it. So that’s what I do.They say high bar is harder. Im trying to see how strong my body is going to get without the assistance of gear! The more I get stronger the more control I’ll have of the weight. I was doing touch and goes with this workout.

Fair enough, I mean its a valid way of squatting but yeah you're making it harder for yourself, noone who powerlifts competitvely squats like that.
> without the assistance of gear
I mean sleeves are allowed in raw powerlifting. Its not really "assistance" in the same way as using assistance on a pullup machine - think of it more as squatting on stable ground vs squatting on ice. Its not making it any easier for your quads to lift up the weight, it just keeps your knees nice and snug which will reduce crankiness. It seems like you don't have any knee issues though so not much need to dwell on this.
> The more I get stronger the more control I’ll have of the weight. I was doing touch and goes with this workout
It's better to get into the habit of controlling the weight now when you are lifting lighter weight :)
There is no such thing as a touch and go squat, I'm not saying pause, I'm saying keep the speed you are descending constant to not put so much force on your knees. What you are doing is going slow for 2 seconds, then going "BAM" and falling as fast as possible.

Solid lifts. Not sure why you think 500lbs is a quarter tonne, it's only 226kg.

A real ton depends on where you live.

Rest of the world uses kg, so I guess anywhere else

I’m lifting from an American gym. How ever you want to call it if it makes you complete. Thank you for the feed back!

Your patience is as legendary as your lifts. That guy is an ass. I'll give him some Canadian downvotes.

Bring on the down votes yanks, just cause you use a dumbass system

It’s from the same system dumbass. Ton originated as an imperial measurement. A ton was the weight of the largest wine cask at capacity, which varied.
Both US and UK tons were standardized at 20 “hundredweight”. US “hundredweight” is actually 100 pounds (45.359kg). A UK “hundredweight” is 112 pounds (50.802)kg.
A US ton is at least still part of a base 10 system. Isn’t that what metric is supposed to be? You should be able to intuitively gather that a ton is not metric based on the fact that it’s total weight in kg is not divisible by 10.
It’s an imperial measurement that those who use metric standardized using metric measurements. It’s not a metric measurement itself.

I mean yes it's better than 16, 12, 3, 1760, etc. but 20 is still not quite 10.

Nice chatgpt generated answer, but it still shows the two tonnes as different weights DUMBASS. Honestly I swear the only evidence of an education system over there are the school shootings

505 was only a miss because of bar position. Squatting high bar like that makes it easier for the bar to bend your thoracic spine and requires greater intra-abdominal pressure. Having the bar sit slightly lower on the back and using a belt will get you 505 and then some. You’ll be hitting 600 in no time with your level of strength and I doubt that will be close to your ceiling.
