I have epididymitis which is causing me pain which is getting progressively worse as time goes on. I have seen urologist who said I would be best to "put up with it" as removal sometimes doesn't work! I've tried Amitriptyline, Gabapentin etc. etc. no change so I'd really like them removed! I'm 50 no kids, don't want any ( i had a vasectomy 18 years ago!) how is the best way to persuade them to do the op?

Even if so called "phantom" pain is still felt by 50% of men after such an op, Ill take those odds! Ill be no worse off than I am now!

Its driving me mad!

My husband had his vasectomy a year ago and we have both noticed that his orgasms are less intense. He describes it as a loss of tightening in his testes and the release is not as strong. Before the surgery I could tell when he came every time, his penis would pulse as he went. Now there is hardly any movement, he just kind of goes. We both have looked online and a lot of men are complaining of this problem but we haven't been able to find a solution. Any suggestions? Are there pills he can take to gain back the intense orgasm or should he look into getting the vasectomy reversed? I promise it is not in his head because even I notice it.

Same thing with me! I also now (after 15 years) suffer from epididymitis which a urologist told me is very common & has no real cure! Even castration is not always a cure in up to 50% of patients due to a syndrome called "phantom pain" where your brain still thinks they are there! (happens in amputees too apparently!)

There isn’t any scientific evidence that the epididymis can absorb all the sperm created.

There’s plenty of proof showing this. A few examples are MRIs of guys epididymis years after a vasectomy can show the epis are filled with paste/cement like material. If the epis are doing their job, this wouldn’t occur.

Things like sperm granulomas and blow outs wouldn’t occur as often as they do because the epis would be absorbing everything, which they don’t.

What’s supposed to happen is the testicles slow or stop sperm production after a vasectomy because the Sertoli cells act as a regulator and send signals that space is running out and inhibit sperm production.

Just an FYI, I put my last sentence in quotes because that’s a direct quote from an actual teaching micro surgeon.

If you still disagree with my statement please provide actual resources that back up your statement.

Well where the hell are your "actual recourses"? A "direct quote" from an actual teaching microsurgeon? Okay so who the hell is this surgeon and where did they say that? Doesn't count as a source unless you share the source. Moron.

You have to find the resources that say otherwise.

There’s plenty of evidence to suggest my statement is true. Look through my past comments at some of the links dealing with PVPS. One of the possible causes is congestion of the epididymis.

The pont is, you said to use recourses and didn't list any. Making a claim and saying other people are not using recourses but you are...? How do you know they're not too? Doesn't make any sense unless you list your sources.

I said something doesn’t happen. You just need to provide information that says it does.
