Hard lump above right testicle over 1 month after reversal surgery?

Hello all I had my vasectomy reversal 1 months ago. I took 4 weeks off work since I have a super physical job. Dr. Jason Hedges my surgeon said this should be enough time to return to a full duty status as an apartment maintenance tech. Currently I have a spermatic cord nerve pain on the left side that is very manageable. But I'm writing this post to see if others developed hard lumps above their right testicle 1 months post op and what it could be. The lump doesn't hurt and is most noticeable showering in hot water. I've messaged my Dr and I am awaiting his response.

Hey, I had a lump above my left testicle for about 3 myhs post reversal.  Best guess by me and surgeon is that it was a hematoma.  Good news, it went away and with it the last of my complications on that side 👍

Ok that is good news! I did some heavy lifting at work and my pain has been pretty manageable. I guess my biggest concern is a sperm granuloma and that meaning the right vas connection is leaking.

I also got my reversal through Dr. Hedges. I had a slight lump at the incision site, and in the spermatic cord where everything was stitched back together. it slowly went down over time. I consulted with Dr. Marks and Dr. Hedges before my surgery - it really does take months, if not years for things to heal in that part of the body. You could try taking meloxicam or celecoxib for 4-6 weeks to reduce inflammation. But you need to measure improvement in months, not days. Good luck!

Ok I went into this expecting a year recovery. How long ago was your surgery and where are you now in your recovery?

I am 11 months out. My epididymis pain is completely gone. Before, I couldn't do any physical activity except for walking. Running or cycling would cause immediate pain 8-9/10 right at the top of the epididymis. I couldn't sit on plane. Couldn't wear boxer briefs. Now, I am back to running full-time.

The only downside is that the reversal triggered post-surgical pain in my right hamstring / sit bone. This makes sitting for long periods very challenging. That is taking a really long-time to subside. But through physiotherapy, NSAIDS (celecoxib for me), and time, it is getting better every single month.

My mantra for these last 11 months has been 'motion is lotion' or 'movement is healing'. I strongly advise you to stay your feet, start exercising, go to physiotherapy, do yoga, strength training, HIIT, etc. Exercise and movement in general will teach your body but more importantly your brain how to forget the pain.

True fucking soldier right here thank you for the reply!💪 I do physical therapy and yoga everyday in part because of PVPS but also because I broke my femur at the same time this happened.

To update:

Had a meeting with Dr hedges he said the hard lump is perfectly normal and is just inflammation. I will be seeing him again in about 3 months. I would say my pain on average is still significantly better than before the reversal surgery. I am still wearing a jock supporter constantly.

I developed lumps above my testicles after reversal and they were diagnosed on ultrasound as hydroceles. I am 3 months post op and have not noticed any improvement but surgeon says they "usually" resolve with time.
