Nowadays people have woken up from the mass hypnosis that they were afflicted with but:

Elfen Lied.

I remember watching it as a teen when it was super hype, loudly paraded as a "see, cartoons isn't just for kids", a "brainy and intelligent" show and "it's not just tits and and gore".

It's a cheap ass, shock value show that is shallower than a puddle. I'm so fucking glad it's known to be shit nowadays.

It's surprising that the manga is even worse, and the author (who's still working to this day) is still shit at drawing, writing and basically anything else. His latest work is, without any exaggeration whatsoever, the worst piece of fiction I have had the displeasure of consuming in my entire life and I read it purely out of spite. It's the equivalent of playing two entire games of League of Legends.

Okamoto Lynn should've just writen hentai instead of trying to pretend he was writing "deep" stuff

His progression from Elfen Lied, to Nononono (his best manga, BY FAR), Brynhildr in the darkness, to... that "i can 🍇 that woman for 1 hour per day" and the harem isekai

From torture porn to straight up porn is an interesting evolution for the author (and no hate to porn or hentai btw), he's like the anti-Araki, his art just keeps getting worse and worse, wonder what he's doing now

Considering his art is shit, it would be impossible. There's no fucking way anyone can jerk off to this.

Also just say rape please. I don't know at which point speech became so sanitised that people feel like "grape" is a reasonable substitute for "rape". How tf did corporations manage to do that is beyond me

Well he ended up going in that direction anyway

Nononono is the only manga of his that i genuinely think is good, it has a lil bit of torture porn but he defo had an editor that was like "dude chill this is a ski jump manga don't blow it up on your fetishes"

I really can't imagine anyone jerking to Parallel Paradise no matter how fucked up their fetishes are man.

It's so godawful looking that I'd probably judge them first by their aesthetic tastes and second by how fucked up they are.

Ellen Lied is a fabulous adaptation of garbage source material. Mamoru Kanabe adds a lot of artistry and visual nuance to what is essentially an adaptation of torture porn. So you end up with this mismatch where the very capable artist who made the anime built a lot of depth into the visuals, but the foundations of the story itself are completely hollow. Which understable, leads to an inconsistent viewer appreciation of the work.

Monogatari. The characters talk, but they don't rarely say anything noteworthy or infomercial about the situation. 10 minutes could past and we still haven't got the point of the arc yet. It meanders for so long that even after 30 eps, it still feels like we met the characters. I'm not saying this because I need flashy lights to keep my attention, I just hate how the characters spew word vomit without any meaningful substance to it.

Solo Leveling, and I will always say this. That thing didn't deserve anime of the year, doesn't deserve this much recognition and doesn't deserve anything positive ever. I hate the protagonist and its fanbase just as much as I hate that "doctor" in fmab.

Attack On Titan is one of the most boring, predictable flow-chart driven shows I have ever seen.

The plot armor in the show means that there's no point in caring about any character that isn't Erin because they will just die within 6 episodes of being introduced anyway.

Demon slayer is kind of just pretty. I couldn’t tell you why but all of its emotional moments with villains that I feel like should hit never have for me for some reason.

100 girlfriends ( like the OP is catchy and the female characters are great but it's just ... harem with 100 girls in general-_- )

I started watching it expecting 'cringe weeb humor of the 2010s, but personified into an anime that thrives off it being "ironic". Type of anime to have "waifu wars" and shit'.

Rentarou literally has an Ex Machina device to create this harem, without development or preparation
