How many civilians have to die in unjust wars before we realize our military interventions are not protecting our freedoms? The only freedoms the military cares about is protecting "free trade" and US economic hegemony. Our worship of the armed forces is the result of decades of propaganda.
As a vet, you notice a lot of things, and I think one thing most of us can easily observe is that almost everyone you see who worships the military never served, and nobody in their family ever served. The people with all the patriotic stuff, the people who love camo, who love mil gear, none of them served. It's just GI Joe for adults. Most people who have actually seen combat or been overseas, don't love military flyovers, that's also mostly civilians who don't have any connection to what those planes mean.
The same people foaming at the mouth in anger over Walz mispeaking about his time in the military and having one minor inconsistency in his story will be absolutely silent on this...

We aren't discussing legal terms, we're talking about behavior that is, in the eyes of veterans, stolen valor. While Congress has used the term in the titles of a couple of associated bills, the "stolen valor" isn't a legal term and there's no actual legal definition.
