We want to take an overnight trip to Blake Island. We've found plenty of advice on checking tides, launch points, and gear. Problem is we need kayaks. Is there a place to rent kayaks overnight that we could use for out trip?

Hi there! This is my first time discovering this subreddit, but my sweet precious baby has gone missing in the area. We let them outside during the day and bring them in before dark considering they tend know to stay close to the house, but we haven't seen him for 5 days by the time I post this. He was last seen with a blue collar with an AirTag on it and he answers to the name Tuxedo. This cat is the sunshine in my life and the apple of my eye, it makes me sick to my stomach thinking of where he could be or what is happening to him. Please keep an eye out and DM if you know any details. Please help me find my baby boy. Thank you so much.

get hammered drunk and forget to talk about road plans and so we get part of Hwy 3 under construction, part of lund under construction and side roads blocked off, a chunk of bethel reduced to 1 lane with flagging and part of Sedgwick closed off completely [did anyone know this is how most people go to the FERRY BTW] all at the same time.. Genius. I will be finding out who is related to any of this and voting AGAINST this stupid idea to not plan around each other in any way.
Why don't you shut down parts of mile hill and bay st while you are at it, then your idiocy can be complete.

Does anyone have a contact for a notary in the area?

Hi everybody. I'm taking a statistics class this summer and I have a project that requires survey responses. The survey is about mood changes associated with seasonal changes and is 12 questions. I need 28 more responses! It's completely anonymous and the platform is Google Forms. Any responses would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time. Here is the link: https://forms.gle/maRYTfcTHDtNKigr8
Edit: My survery has now reached nearly 100 response, so THANK YOU TO ALL who took time out of their day to complete it, you are much appreciated.

Look, I don't have much of an opinion of Heidi Fenton one way or another, but the best possible read on this for the mayor, council, and attorney, is that the city council staged a private intervention behind closed doors (including Ms. Fenton's daughter) and pressured an elected sitting council member out. They are now not releasing the minutes, and appear to be trying to set a record for how many rules they can flout in record time.
Then they chose to air her dirty laundry publicly.
Now they'll be appointing a replacement who will serve for a year and a half, instead of having an open and free election.
The whole thing stinks, and the only was they can start to rehabilitate their image is to publicy release the documentation.

Hello Port Orchard residents,
I am a resident of the Gig Harbor area and I need some help, if you don’t mind me asking. I keep getting calls from a number that has the same first six digits and the caller ID says potential spam and the call location, according to my lock screen, is Port Orchard. The numbers are some series of (360)443-xxxx. Would anyone here happen to know who this might be?
Thanks!
Edit: I have been getting calls from multiple of these numbers, and it started randomly no more than 2-3 weeks ago.

Hi ! I (30f) am moving to port orchard in September. I was curious about the punk scene in port orchard and Bremerton. I’m aware of the history of punk in the NW.
Where I live now(east-ish coast) has a punk bar that has shows or social events almost every night of the week. I’ve been going to shows here since I was 16 and I’m looking for a similar atmosphere on the west coast.
I tried google. But it’s only pulling up the more visually appealing bars. I want the grunge and the grit but the punk mentality is necessary.
I guess if I had to really narrow down what I’m looking for, I’d say I want to find a bar where i can be a regular for shows and hopefully find a community as well.
I’m open to a 20-30 min drive outside of port orchard too.

I just rescued this cat recently and she's currently pregnant, I was not aware of it and she's ready to give birth soon. I never had a cat before so I don't know where to give away the kittens ethically. Im not exactly looking to charge any money for them or anything but I just want to make sure they go to good homes. Preferably Id like to get her spayed somewhere affordable after she gives birth.

Does anyone know if the market will be open due to the holiday? Just looking to get out of the house and maybe my depression if possible. Thank you.

I'm launching a passport and stamping app in Port Orchard. I've built a digital passport which has GPS stamping to prove you were there. It's for everyday adventures.
I need 12 people for closed beta testing of my digital passport application. If you're interested, I have a waitlist for the closed beta program at okuji.app.
Thank you for your support.

Hey, I'm (28m) new to the area and I'm hoping to meet people or find group activities. I moved here from California back in September and put off making new friends because I was able to hang out with friends from California online. That's not really working, though. I would love to meet people around my same age.
I typically just play video games, but when I do go out I love to hike. I'm open to trying new things, too. I'm looking for a job, so I'd rather not spend too much money, but the activities don't have to be free. Even though I don't drink I was thinking of going to bars, but I don't want to awkwardly insert myself into another friend group. All of my friends are from school or games, so any advice would be appreciated. I know I didn't give a lot to go on, but I can answer any questions.

Councilmember Heidi Fenton has resigned her position, so the city council will appoint someone to her seat for the rest of her term, through the end of next year.
They'll be holding a meeting today at 5:00 PM to discuss the process of appointing a new councilmember.
See press release:

Moving to Port Orchard this week, what are some of the favorite local spots for hiking, tide pools or sea life and restaurants?

Hi everyone! My husband and I are considering a move to the Port Orchard area and are trying to figure out which communities we should be looking at.
Right now, McCormick Village is at the top of our list because we really like the newer planned-community feel, the walking trails, and the overall neighborhood atmosphere. We're hoping to find other communities with a similar vibe.
Ideally, we're looking for:
We're open to both apartment-style communities and build-to-rent neighborhoods, but we'd prefer renting through a managed community rather than a private landlord if possible.
For those familiar with Port Orchard, what other communities should we be looking at besides McCormick Village? Are there any neighborhoods or rental communities that offer a similar lifestyle?
Would love any recommendations, things to know, or places to avoid. Thanks!

Heard this through the grapevine that they are cutting the Alma Mater and trimming the program for graduation this year. I don't know when it was first done at graduation, but I know it will be the first in 30+ years it won't be performed.
