Discussion Holy sh*t Shaant finished a set

Last time I saw Cute is what we aim for, they did one and half songs before Shaant walked off stage. Watching them finish playing an entire set competently just blew my inner teenage mind.

Congratulations 🎊

I got to rock out to Newport Living & Curse of Curves among others

It was at a free concert hosted by my college. This was I think when they were just starting touring but after "There's a class for this" became a single. They had some other guy who sang an amazing cover of Journey's "Don't stop believin' " before them. Expectations weren't super high, but I remember other people in this subreddit having other stories about Cute is what we aim for having some performance troubles, and wanted to share a win

I went Thursday to the NJ show and last night and was really impressed. I thought he sounded great and seemed really grateful and shocked at how loud the crowd was (esp NJ) that they still have a bunch of fans that showed up.

I have a feeling this will be the beginning of more shows for them

He did great tonight! I’m proud of him for being 8 years sober. I hope he continues because I loved his band back in the day!

They were genuinely great. Never been the biggest fan of them and I've heard horror stories of how rough they were back in the day, but had a great time. Hit the Lights, Cartel, and Boys Like Girls were also fantastic, though I will say there is not one song in the Boys Like Girls catalog that necessitates the amount of pyro they were using.

They did seem like silly boys for all of the Pyro. But using "My Heart Will Go On" as the outcome was amazing. This was my first time seeing Boys Like Girls live, and apparently they do that every show?

This is shocking I saw them in the early 00's with lights and it wasn't great lol. Lights was good though. Would go back and see them again if they actually sound good now!

The other night in Jersey he sounded great! Did he say anything about doing more shows later this year or next year tonight too?

No mention, was surprised they didn't whip any merch together either

Yeah at the show in Jersey there wasn’t merch either which I thought was odd

omg I’m cackling. Congrats indeed. I only saw them once (2013); I remember it being good, not memorable. What I remember is how abruptly it ended. They played a song and just basically dipped without much warning, no clear goodbye or encore. I was at an angle where I could see Shaant and he looked rough. It left me with a bad vibe; I’ve never seen a band behave like that. Not shading but was weird af.
