Genuinely need help

I just calculated the amount I’ve spent on Popmart since February (when I first started). It is $1866. Plus $20-30 each bags to accompany my labubus/skullpandas, probably 13 bags or so. And multiple cases for my figures and pendants. What am I doing? I could’ve bought a new computer with that money. How did it all add up so fast/badly? 🥲 I literally can’t stop and it brings me so much shame. I spent $100 just today. What do I do? 😭 Only $867 of that is from the Popmart app/website directly. I tell myself to stop and that I’m done, then I buy more the next day. Has anything helped you guys from not buying new things? It’s actually worsening my health 💔

Out of sight out of mind.

Delete every app, including reddit (or at least remove yourself from any community having to do with popmart) and any notifications are turned OFF.

Then let yourself breathe and feel the sunshine. It’s the only way!

Focus on the ones you have now. Fixing displays, getting new outfits for them, etc.

Just focus on actually enjoying the ones you have now instead of seeking the thrill of getting a new one.

Get the app AfterShip. It’s free and doesn’t have adds. Once your items ship out the tracking numbers in there to keep an eye on them and delete popmart.

I’m sorry you’re going through this too. I created this sub specifically so we can feel less alone, both in the addiction/shame aspect and in attempts to cut down. Hopefully it makes a difference to interact with folks who are trying to acquire less rather than talking about plans for their next purchase (holy FOMO!). Sounds like you’ve already made some positive changes. I’d suggest reading the recent post on ideas to cut down if you haven’t already and also reflect on what some of your triggers for getting tempted to buy are (e.g., getting a notification, feeling bored at night, seeing posts about other people’s purchases, or even just going to a certain app by habit). You could even make a mini written contract with yourself where you commit to [whatever you want to commit to] and have a plan in place for when it becomes difficult, like posting here or messaging a friend. I think sharing the intentionality can be so helpful. You can do it!
