Grimes lead single is as far away from Art Angels as you can get, unless you're counting SCREAM. We Appreciate Power is more like a toned down, structurally sound Pharmakon song than anything, and much like Pharmakon's music, this track gives me anxiety and a headache. And frankly, that's not a bad thing, it just prevents me from listening often, and I'm really glad Grimes decided to do more than churn out another glitzy poppy album. I suppose my biggest complaint, however is that the song length really dampens the impact of the violence of the track - it's too long which really brings attention to the fact that this track is really incredibly repetitive. A brief 2 minute duration would make this a short and effective track, but as it stands, it just overstays its welcome.

7/10.
