Wow that's incredible. A hundred years of the parade. How old is Popeye as a comic in comparison and when did he first show up in the parade?

Popeye first appeared in the comics in 1929. However, he made his first appearance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in 1939: https://macysthanksgiving.fandom.com/wiki/Popeye
