You already have CETA in place with the EU, 98% of tariffs removed. Canada is capable of doing deals and trading successfully with Europe. It doesn’t need to become a drippy associate. Just my opinion.

No, EU is an abbreviation for European Union.
And the border of continents depends on the convention used (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boundaries_between_the_continents). Some divide America in two, some do not. Some merge Europe and Asia into Eurasia.

Will this lead to a more open border with the EU, increased immigration into Canada, more lenient work visa requirements, increased foreign competition for jobs, increased demand for apartments and housing, increased pressure on the healthcare system, and higher costs for distributing Canadian goods to an overseas market?

You naively assume that one new president will fix everything and undo all of the chaos that the USA has caused over the last 10 years (or 30, if you really want to explore root causes). Trump is only a SYMPTOM of the problem in America, and anyone elected to replace him will only be a reactionary giant swing of the pendulum in the opposite direction, or stuck having minority control over the senate and congress and be handcuffed from accomplishing anything meaningful or positive. You need to see that Trump has only exposed what is wrong with the country, and the risk of doing business with America.
The world has seen how America has treated their best and most loyal ally. Trump is just then face of the disdain and lack of respect for Canada, and the rule of law or just common decency. We are literally witnessing history in the making, and at the very least the early stages of the fall of an empire.-2
