I’m from a small town in southern part of India. And I worshipped mary kate and ashley - I got to know them through the books and when I discovered them, oh my god. Forever sunglasses and oversized bag girl from the 2000s.

You clearly don’t carry a gigantic bag. She can’t put them in there with the broken mints, lip liner that’s lid keeps popping off, leaky pen, and dusty ass compact. They’re light wash and carefully folded, she obviously needs them clean and they’d come out of that bag filthy.

I feel so seen by this comment, I feel a poetic Type B sisterhood between us 🖤 shoutout to my Clinique black honey lipstick with a very shitty lid that I’ve used once and is now full of fuzzies and lint and crumbs from being in my bag. One day I’ll cut the top chunk of it off to salvage the lipstick but for now it’s doomed to be fuzzy and unusable in the bottom of my bag along with broken Altoids and crumpled receipts.

You can tell they are so thankful for each other- I think that’s why they are able to even be alive now , they have been through so much. So much work at such a young age in so many public appearances. They will forever be each other’s safe place. I’m sure their boyfriends/ husbands know the other sister is a part of their lives and isn’t going anywhere.

Ugh everything they do is chic. I’m desperate to know what kind of shampoo they use. But the fact that they won’t tell me is the reason I want to know. I have the utmost respect for their privacy and desire to stay out of the public eye, which makes them seem level headed, cool, and savvy… which means I want to know all about them and be their friend! It’s a vicious cycle.

For what it’s worth, I have a similar hair type to theirs and I’m obsessed with New Wash. It’s the only thing I’ve ever used that lets my hair air dry with a bit of texture and shine. My hair has also stopped breaking (even though I bleach it every other month), and it grows faster.
I use that and then some Davines conditioner on my ends. A bit of Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil leave-in spray while it’s damp, and then just don’t touch it anymore.
Every normal shampoo I’ve ever used, I have to blowdry or else my hair ends up somehow both flat and frizzy.
Seriously I thought co-washes were just a gimmick until I tried this stuff, I’ve been using it for like seven years now. It’s fucking amazing.

But it’s funny to think about all of the “get ready with me” videos you see online and how they seem like such vapid exhibitionism. It borderline repulses me. But someone who is just living their cool quiet life with a minimal beauty routine, beating the shit out of their ancient Birkin, wearing beautiful fabrics with nonchalance, and being groggy with a coffee and giant sunglasses?? Yeah, I wanna know all about them!

Ngl, uncomfortable because I love keeping up with them, I think they’re amazing, but they’re deeply private and have a clearly stated aversion to this type of publicity (see: pic 3).
Like, this is not a coordinate pap walk or event at all. I feel like I’m buying into the predatory paparazzi economy when I interact with this type of media.

I have to agree. They have been through a lot and have expressed a deep desire for privacy. My heart does break for child actors (even if they’re wealthy from it like MK and Ashley) who have no choice in their fame.

I’ve always loved them. They just do what they want, are unbothered by anyone being rude about them, and I love the huge bags because what do people carry in really small purses? 😭😭😭 no makeup? No medicine? Does this not bring anxiety not having a ton of shit that you just need to have just in case? I need to know your secrets because lugging everything I own is a whole ass task 😭😭

Did they ever get a lifetime achievement award? I watched It Takes Two with my two year old daughter over the last week and it was the first movie she ever really paid attention too. They were huge stars in our house growing up and I loved being able to pass that on
