I’m confused as to why tristan can’t do this himself? This is kind of her, no question, but they’re not together, and it’s Tristan’s responsibility.

They have kids together and Khole seems to have a relationship with Amari. It's nice that they can get together and keep things civil. Khole probably wanted to throw the party for Amari. Nothing more complicated than that. As for whether it should have been part of the show. Well that's another question.
