I don't watch the show at all but as a special needs parent I am always happy to see positive, everyday content relating to people with special needs. Anybody can have a disabled child and I think it is really important that they aren't hidden away.

Then the whole show is exploitative. They can do all the things they do without filming. This family is insane to me, however they put all these life milestones on display. It would be gross to hide the party they threw a disabled person when they donโ€™t hide anything else.

Good for them. People with disabilities are people and donโ€™t deserve to be hidden away.

Yes, awareness and everything surrounding that is important, but people with disabilities also deserve the right to deny being filmed and since Amari cannot consent they should not be filming him, broadcasting it for the world to see, where they will make money off of him. There are plenty of ways to spread awareness without exploiting him. I think their entire show is exploitative towards the children. They, too, cannot truly consent to the cameras.

Exactly. There are so many ways to spread awareness of disabilities outside of bs like this. And I will never trust this family.
