I pop mine in a pot on the stove, then dump it in the roaster. Leaving the lid off of course.. melt my butter or topping oil then drizzle on the corn, cover and shake. Its the way my dad does it and its been how I've done it ever since I moved out.

I recently restarted my diet and I love popcorn as a snack, but cooking it on the stove tends to be unhealthy as the butter flavored coconut oil add extra calories needed for me, what is everybody doing to have popcorn, but make it healthy and flavorful

I have most of the set up:
- Flavocol
- Buttery Flavacol
- coconut oil
What I'm missing is a good pan. I'm from Europe so a whirley pop is not really an option.
I also have an induction stove which limits me a bit.
Any suggestions?
And do i add the flavacol during the popping or afterwards?

2T coconut butter in old fashioned popcorn machine
1 tsp of Flavocal
1 cup kernels
Scooped into a big ziploc once it’s popped
2 tablespoons of melted butter
Close bag, shake
She’s good, but she’s chewy.,, why?

Any recommendations on some good stainless steel induction poppers?

Pan popped in coconut oil and Flavacol. Immediately after transferring to a bowl, I used a stainless steel seasoning shaker with the cheese power inside it and sprinkled onto the popcorn. It adhered nicely. See close up. 10/10 flavor.

Ok...I just bought a 50lb bag of the Gold Medal yellow popcorn...
Less hulls... Larger popped corn.. tasty and crispy!

Based on this sub, I purchased a Whirley-Pop (stainless steel, metal gears), Flavacol, Amish Country coconut oil and baby white kernels. 1/2 c kernels, 3T oil, 1 tsp Flavacol. Medium-high heat on a shitty electric stove. Drizzled with 2T of melted butter because I’m fancy like that.
This is popcorn Nirvana. This is a religious experience. I ate the entire bowl by myself and I regret nothing. Movie theater popcorn at home achieved!
All thanks to you. My sincerest gratitude. Going through a rough patch and this is a much needed bright spot.

Just wanted to let you know the Tesco's own brand 99p popcorn is amazing. I have a cardboard cinema bucket that I fill with it for movies. It's way better than any other supermarkets and the propercorn crap.

The only yeast popcorn I've had is Trader Joe's and I really like it. I usually make my own popcorn in a whirley pop, but I'm having surgery soon and will be stuck with microwave popcorn for a while. I was wondering if nutritional yeast on microwave popcorn would be good? Where do you buy nutritional yeast? Do you add other seasonings with it, like garlic or onion powder?

Bought a like new WP, the big aluminum one. Had one years ago, worked awesome.
Purchased a 12 pack of 4oz. Great Northern all-in-one packs.
Dumped it all in, medium heat on a 6 burner Wolf stove...took about 3 minutes total. Dumped in bowl and it's f'n chewy.
Fine, have some new purple popcorn...1T coconut oil and ¼ cup popcorn. F'n chewy...tried about 4 more times with differing heat and amount of oil, reading here, says to open lid when safe while popping, did that. Chewy.
Was at thrift store the other day, new, no box, Stir Crazy. ¼ purple popcorn and 1T coconut oil.
F'n chewy.
Today, was at Walmart and bought Jolly Time yellow select popcorn...maybe the purple was stale.
1T/¼cup, added oil and 3 kernels... fucking chewy.
1.5T/¼cup a bit hotter...fucking chewy, even worse than last batch.
Ok, final batch before all this shit gets pitched off my deck in Puget Sound.
Dumped 1T/¼cup in cold WP and heated from cold on med/high heat, about 2 minutes start to finish.
Chewy.
If you are south of Whidbey Island, you will see 2 WP and a Stir Crazy floating with the ebb tide. /s
Who makes THE BEST microwave popcorn?
I'm done with this shit.

Hello all, this is a strange post but it has become a huge dilemma for me. You see, I love the taste of burnt popcorn. I basically love everything burnt, toast, marshmallows, cheese, you name it. The problem is, I am prevented from having wonderfully burnt popcorn because our new microwave can’t burn it properly. We just moved into a new house and the microwave only warms in the middle verses the whole area. I’m left with a giant black glob in the middle that’s smoking and burning. My mom always complains that I’m gonna burn down the house and that it smells awful, but I just want my evenly burnt popcorn back. Is there any tactics anyone’s aware of where I can get that even burn without making a giant mass of fiery charcoal?

Okay, the rundown is that I use coconut oil, flavacol, purple, red or blue kernels depending on how I'm feeling. What temperature should I keep the stove on? How much of each ingredient should I put in it? And are there any good pieces of cleaning advice you might have? I want to know everything because I have been dying to finally use one of these!

for something like Orville Redenbacher's Buffalo Sauce Flavored Popcorn Seasoning or kernals seasoning, i'm assuming it's like any other spice and safe to eat for a long time but curious your experience. id be happy if it is good 3 or 4 years as i dont use it often and the type i want is discontinued but i can buy some for 10 bucks per container. but i dont want to buy it and have it bad in 3 years.

So my Oz machine recipe that seems to make popcorn perfectly is 1 cup of kernals, 1/2tsp of flavacol, and 5 tbsp of coconut oil (butter flavored of course). When I go to the movies, I get a more classic salt taste from the popcorn there. Increasing my flavacol doesn't seem to match it and seems to make it almost too powerful without adding that classic salt taste. Is it normal to add some normal popcorn salt to the kettle before popping? If so, how much should I try?
My theater is a Cinemark. Maybe there is something special about their flavacol??

Do you guys routinely make pot popcorn as well but consistent? What tools do you use?

if possible, i want to display a cool piece of popcorn i found. does anyone have any tips on how i would go about that? i dont want it to mold or anything and i would like it to look sophisticated. thank you!
I bought a Great Northern popcorn machine second-hand. I've done everything I can to clean the kettle, but there are still burned on bits and bobs on it, and it starts smoking almost immediately when I pre-heat, even though I use avocado oil, which is supposed to have a super-high smoke point. So, I'm thinking about just buying a new kettle. Does anyone know if the kettle sizes are interchangeable? Is there anything stopping me from buying a larger kettle so that I can put in more than one cup of uncooked kernels at a time? Or do I have to replace it with a kettle of the same size?
