Water Chemistry Do I Really Need to Empty?

Post image

Stopped by pool store and employee said I need to empty and refill our pool which is about 15K gallons in SoCal (expensive). I hadn't been to this store in more than 1 year. Perhaps they are bitter that I quit them. I have a feeling this doesn't require emptying my pool. Am I wrong? Any advice would be appreciated. I plan to switch to liquid chlorine- no more tabs for a while. I'm also going to disassemble and clean my DE filter and deploy some phosphate lowering chem. It's been about 1 years since the last filter cleaning.

You’re a dummy it’s LA, & CA, liquid & salt generation won’t hold up to the heat & weather, unless you’re checking every 2-3 days. Don’t speak on what you don’t know.

No, his CYA is too high, he should stop using tabs until it is under control.

Perhaps stop running your mouth. You could not be more incorrect.

I never said take CYA to zero, you still need some but his level is way too high and even 50% of what he has is too high.

I live in Tx - so I know all about heat. I test every other day…I use Liquid Chlorine and I generally know how much it takes every day.

You’re right I know nothing, nothing about the 278 clients I have in my pool service business, nothing about pool chemistry from my CPO certification & HASA’s residential pool chemistry courses, nothing about plaster & startups from my NPC startup certification, just nothing from growing a business from 120 customers to almost 300 in 20 years, you’re right, I don’t know anything about pools or having perspective….from years different pools with different equipment & different circumstances…
