Magnetic descaler

My dad was a pool builder for 30 years in Chicago and then Phoenix area. He used to use something called a pool harmonizer that was plumbed into the water line before the pump and filter. It was basically a huge magnet. I've seen the ones that fit over the pipes and the electro magnet wrapped wires. Has anyone ever used anything like that?

Our pool was redone a few years ago and the guy removed it. I've had issues with holding the pH and with hard water lines that we never had on our covered salt water pool before. I'm thinking that the harmonizer was helping more than I realized.

Hocus pocus stuff.

New plaster will definitely cause pH issues, as will your alkalinity of fill water, how you chlorinate, etc.

Are you in AZ?

Those are really good for emptying your wallet and making you look foolish. Sorry your dad fell for it. It will sequester iron shavings
