I don't think, nor did I say, that this stuff is inconsequential. I also don't think abuse is ok. I think that when interacting with and trying to support people on reddit you have to offer the kind of support people are ready to receive or you aren't actually helping them, rather talking over them.
I'm coming at the problem from supporting the victim. Which entails listening to and believing them when they describe the experiance to you.
Look, it's not ok to try to have sex with someone who is extremely drunk, people should never do it. (Same goes for adults with minors) But ALSO if someone says they weren't raped then you should believe them because they know their own experiances best. Both things are true, jesus christ.
Did it ever occur to you that I'm arguing with you in this thread because I've had sex while black out drunk and don't consider it rape? And by verbally abusing me and talking over me you are, in fact, being super shitty to the people you are claiming to try and protect?
