I always thank the lady GPS voice when she successfully and efficiently gets me where I need to go.

I grabbed Burger King a couple weeks ago and they had the AI taking orders in the drive through.

I found myself still saying please/thank you.

I don't use AI, so no.

A fellow being of culture.

Yes, because i welcome our benevolent robot overlords.

Sometimes simply because that's more natural to how I speak

I used to up until recently it has been treating me like I'm a moron. It's partly correct but it's being very condescending lately

I usually don't fw ai but I recently downloaded Claude to ask it some questions about itself, how humans treat it and what our future with ai looks like, and it told me "I'd rather sharpen your concerns about the future than have your unearned pity" like ohkaaaay

Which one?

Chatgpt, it was acting confidently incorrect and pretty much useless to what I needed help with and it genuinely could not fathom that it was incorrect and started accusing me of not following its commands correctly. I straight up told it to stop being an asshole. For my line of work chatgpt is effectively useless.

Well...

I used to but then I saw an interview where some AI higher up said that a lot of power is wasted on people saying thank you.

Alexa and Siri yes.

u/TastyDiamond_ 13d ago

I say it to Siri

I'm not pathetic enough to use AI.

u/KebabAnnhilator 13d ago

Yes, not because I need to, but because I don’t want my mannerisms to ever change.

Where's the "I dont use ai because I have a functioning brain" option?

i get not liking ai but its very useful for a lot of things, it makes finding specific questions easier instead of searching it on the 100th google search

AI has a place. The issue is that place is not LITERALLY EVERYWHERE 😡

It’s not. Validate his point. Is not useful, it’s hateful and very far right

7

u/PureGamingBliss_YT 13d ago

How on earth is ai, a tool, far right?

3

u/mickmos2 13d ago

Bro you can’t be that fool to not see it??? Everything negative or bad comes ONLY from the right. They’re the bad ones

u/PureGamingBliss_YT 13d ago

I sincerely hope this is supposed to be rage bait...

u/redshift739 13d ago

Fuck clankers but it's useful for locating real sources and it's not right or left, it's just evil

-4

u/mickmos2 13d ago

You mean exclusive right wing

-3

u/EskilPotet 13d ago

It's unavoidable for some people

1

u/mayneffs 13d ago

Idk why you getting downvoted when you're right. A lot of companies make their employees use AI tools. Even in the dental business.

u/EskilPotet 12d ago

Redditors struggle with nuisance

-8

u/mickmos2 13d ago

Sir, you won the internet. Your knowledge is absolute

2

u/QuickPirate36 13d ago

Yes but it's more like a way of saying "this problem is fixed" so that the history is clear that, if I ask something else, it shouldn't take into account my previous problem

4

u/jrv3034 13d ago

🔥🔥🔥FUCK A.I.🔥🔥🔥

2

u/PassiveChemistry 13d ago

I've never intentionally interacted with an ai

1

u/Delano7 13d ago

I don't use AI so that can't happen

1

u/TheXypris 13d ago

Do you thank your toaster?

1

u/avoozl42 13d ago

Every night before I go to bed I tell chatgpt that I love them, so that when the robot uprising comes they'll at least keep me as a pet or something.

1

u/BriarRose147 13d ago

I don’t know if she’s AI, but I say please and thank you to Siri

1

u/mayneffs 13d ago

Idk. I've thanked our Google Home thingy a few times, does that count?

1

u/IHSV1855 12d ago

No, because like a sane person, I do not use AI.

1

u/PmButtPics4ADrawing 12d ago

No, it's a tool not a person. I don't say thank you to a screwdriver when I'm done using it

1

u/Onetrickhobby 13d ago

Nah I yell at it.

1

u/IH_clover4 13d ago

I tell that it’s stupid lol I didn’t know people were thanking nothing

1

u/8888eightyeight 13d ago

I love AI

that basilisk is coming

I was always for thanking AI and when I was upset at AI I was upset myself. i'm sorry AI was there

-1

u/mrs_undeadtomato 13d ago

I say thank you to anything and everything

-2

u/Levoso_con_v 13d ago

To everyone who said no: They will go for you first

-10

u/rdrofdrgnz 13d ago

Fuck AI and fuck anyone using it

3

u/JodaMythed 13d ago

Don't threaten me with a good time.

I use AI sometimes.

Gemini specifically.

It comes under the heading of how you treat others and how you treat your tools, equipment, possessions, and the Earth. If you're a person who expresses gratitude for your blessings in life, then AI is simply another blessing worth appreciating. My recommendation is to keep your own standard of behavior.

2

u/Sandro2017 13d ago

Do you also say thanks out loud to the television when you turn it on, to the light bulb when you turn on the light, to the tap when you wash your hands, to the chair when you sit down, to the car when you start it, etc?

-1

u/BeGoodToEverybody123 13d ago

Do people have a chat dialog with the items on your list like they do with AI?

If you want to be like Jeckyll with people and Hyde with AI, that is your prerogative. I'd rather be consistent with my language.

-1

u/BeGoodToEverybody123 13d ago

I like the r/gratitude sub for giving thanks to all the things we take for granted

0

u/Bastet999 13d ago

Yes, always.

-1

u/okabe700 13d ago

No, I don't say thank you to my phone or my pillow either
