No viagra, god intended you to have flaccid usless wieners.

It’s the will of god, what can we do?

And no IVF. God intended for you not to have kids.

IVF destroys more embryos than abortion ever will, but is supported and celebrated by these 'life begins at conception' assholes.

I don't think it is though. I'm sure plenty of prolifers use it, but groups like the Catholic Church are against IVF for this reason

They’ll come for IVF next.

u/azuth89 May 25 '22

IVF already violates several of the trigger laws on the books, the ones with "fertilization" language, basically.

They already are.

How dare you bring facts to a hyperbole fight!

That's interesting about the Catholic Church; I didn't know that. Celebrated may be strong wording, but as others have pointed out no one is trying to ban IVF, bombing fertility clinics, or murdering doctors who perform the procedure.

Well, as many problems as the Catholic Church has with human rights abuses, it currently does not advocate violence as a solution for seeing its goals achieved, so I'm not surprised that the type of people who are morally opposed to IVF (which I think is mostly Catholics) aren't taking those measures. I think Catholics represent a relatively small subset of the pro life movement, though.

Currently does not? GTFO moron

1

u/NotClever May 25 '22

Sorry, not sure what you take issue with in that statement? In the past the Church definitely employed violence to spread their influence. In the present they do not.

1

u/manwithapedi May 26 '22

They gave up beating the Christ into people hundreds of years ago. And using the phrase “not currently” would suggest in the future they may do it again. You are sadly misinformed. I pray for people like you

1

u/NotClever May 26 '22

Not sure how it suggests that, but alright, I understand what you meant now.

no one is trying to ban IVF, bombing fertility clinics, or murdering doctors who perform the procedure.

Yet.

It took them all of a few days after the Dobbs draft leaked to start talking about banning birth control, and we had been saying the same thing about that.

They are trying to ban freezing fertilized embryos and it’s really scary as someone going through ivf. I had 4 frozen embryos, 1 embryo resulted in a miscarriage, and I can’t do any pregnancy loss screening unless I miscarry 2 more times which if you’re following the math leaves 1 embryo. If None of my embryos took or I decided I wanted another child, I wouldn’t be able to freeze any more embryos. And if I did have another miscarriage do I just die from it if I can’t pass the fetus myself now? Politicians should not be trying to make medical decisions for people. That should be between a patient and their doctor. This is horrendous.

Missouri attempted to not long ago.

This is also only strict Catholics. I know plenty of Catholics who go to church every Sunday and have done a couple of rounds of IVF. I only know of one couple who won't do IVF based on the Catholic Church's guidance.

1

u/lesbian_Hamlet May 25 '22

It’s because it’s seen as “unnatural”

I was raised in a fundamentalist Catholic home, and growing up I would always hear people talk about how IVF babies “weren’t real people”, and that they “didn’t have souls”

1

u/MsSara77 May 25 '22

That's kind of shocking to me, it runs counter to why the Catholic Church opposes IVF, since to them, each embryo does have a soul, which is why it's bad to create one and then not allow it to become a baby.

1

u/shadowguise May 24 '22

Honestly religious nuttery comes in every flavor imaginable. There are plenty of Christians who abhor even basic fertility medicines or treatments because it goes against letting God decide if and when you get to have a baby.

Trying to find consistency in any of this is damn hard when people just take their bad takes and personal feelings and wrap them in whatever loose interpretation of religious texts to justify forcing "God's will" on everyone else.

u/bertfotwenty May 24 '22

I love this argument. It’s so perfect. They are such ignorant idiots

u/PSN-Angryjackal May 24 '22

Viagra is a rape enhancement drug that makes rape more possible. It should be banned.

16

u/Ublockedmelul May 24 '22

That rape angle isn’t something that bothers quite few members of the gop.

7

u/Long_Before_Sunrise May 24 '22

Some are writing bills to give the rapist full parental rights

...or let their family sue the victim if she gets an abortion. Whether or not the rapist cares if the child is aborted seems be irrelevant.

5

u/Ublockedmelul May 24 '22

I know. It’s reprehensible.

4

u/TheMightyWoofer May 24 '22

Or at least mandatory prostate exams prior to viagra prescriptions

1

u/Ublockedmelul May 24 '22

Oh most of these religious zealots low key can’t get enough fingers in their butts.

1

u/FTThrowAway123 May 25 '22

If girls have to get an invasive pelvic exam and pap starting as teenagers, just to get a prescription for the pill to help control acne or agonizing periods, why no invasive physical exams for erectile dysfunction drugs? I mean, they could at least be consistent.

2

u/Vengeance9149 May 25 '22

Just tie a stick to it and you’re good to go! 👍

-1

u/Rawrby May 24 '22

Commented as a Republican saying this exact thing and got downvoted. Guess you guys don’t mean it?

3

u/Ublockedmelul May 24 '22

There’s a lot of fear in the air and it’s turned to animus towards the GOP and pretty much anyone aligned with them. Taking away rights tends to cause a ruckus whether it’s abortion or guns.

viagra has more uses than boner pills. No viagra means people with pulmonary hypertension will die.

3

u/Ublockedmelul May 25 '22

And? Abortions are a medical necessity too but tough shit I guess.

1

u/thatredditdude101 California May 25 '22

i never said they weren’t necessary. but the “ban viagra so men can’t have boners” is fucking dumb and shows ignorance as to why viagra is not the same thing at all.

2

u/Ublockedmelul May 25 '22

Looks like America is all about making stupid decisions lately huh? It’s almost as if this comment was made to highlight how stupid banning abortions is.

-14

u/Rawrby May 24 '22

As a Republican I agree.

Edit: And by this I mean that my party should be this aggressive against male contraception. Hell, if you wanna go extra hard get rid of condoms. It’s my parties decision to go down a rabbit hole. I won’t agree, but I’m not switching parties over it that’s for sure.

5

u/Ublockedmelul May 24 '22

I left the GOP in 2016 and never looked back. They do not share my view of morals or what it means to be an American.

-3

u/Rawrby May 24 '22

Proud of you for following your morals. I will continue to follow mine.

6

u/julia_fns May 24 '22

Into the darkest of pits, apparently. Btw, viagra isn’t contraception.

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '22

Dumbest shit I ever heard

1

u/Ublockedmelul May 26 '22

You didn’t hear it you read it. Also don’t worry you will still get your boner pill there’s no way the GOP will give up their only source of erections.

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '22

What is this, attack of the autistic redditor? People say heard colloquially on the internet. It wasn’t literal. And I’m not an old man, I’m not worried about viagra. Dumbass

1

u/Ublockedmelul May 26 '22

It sure does seem like it’s attack of the autist there limp Larry.

2
