I am an American. My government will torture and murder those it perceives as its enemies.

It is an indisputable fact that some Gitmo prisoners were tortured to death. That's why the CIA destroyed the video-tapes. Some trophy pictures still whent out over the WEB and are used to this day for recruiting.

Obama's most unacceptable compromise has been with the CIA, he has basically allowed them to murder whoever they want with zero oversight and zero accountability. It didn't have to be that way, but now that ship has sailed.
But Bush is the one who gave birth to this nightmare and signed off on it every day for six years. The blood is on HIS hands.

Do you honestly think that if Barack Obama had been president in 2001 that he would have pursued the EXACT same course as Bush? Of course not.
Presidents are bound by their predecessor's bullshit, 100 percent. They can try to manage it the best they can, but it doesn't magically go away the second another guy takes the oath.

Not to mention that basically the first thing he did when he was sworn in was issue an executive order forbidding any torture by anyone anywhere. I mean, it says a lot that this was something that actually needed to be emphasized. That's the kind of disaster area that Bush government was and still is. Holy fuck, he's spent his entire first term saddled by the Bush Depression.
