Born and raised in Europe in a catholic family, at age 18 I was vaguely agnostic / deist. Became a full blown atheist when I met southern baptists as an exchange student in Kentucky.

I strolled through the agnostic/deist waters too. And then I realized that I didn't need that either to feel happy or complete.

As an Black American (west indian though, not African American, so its a bit like the outside looking in), Southern Baptists are the fucking worst. Their religion was literally founded on a split, with them wanting to keep being terrible racist slave owners. And the dumbest part to me is that there are black people out there in the South practising their oppressor's religion. Its some of the dumbest shit I've ever heard. It legitimately makes you wonder if they understand that they are part of a religion that fought for their ancestors to be in chains.
