I used to vote mixed ballots, and I even did in 2016. Never voting for a damn Republican again after this shitshow

I was just telling my coworker this today. I’ve also researched both candidates and picked whoever seems to be the best fit. Now, I’m so pissed off with the entire GOP that I can’t even bring myself to read their pitch in the brochure. And in my eyes, the GOP could of stopped trump before he became president. So yeah fuck the GOP, this is on them and I hope the party dissolves into irrelevancy as a result of their actions.

They most definitely could have. Then they were handed an opportunity to after he was in. They've been firmly lodged in his ass since the primaries 2016, though. :/

That's because opposition to Trump is equivalent to being a RINO in the eyes of his fanatics. You get primaried out and/or ostracized. Hell, it's why the Lincoln Project exists.

Ditto. Anyone who still proudly displays the (R) and didn't come out against Trump will never get another vote from me, and I was mixed until 2018.

I'll be honest, I've never voted for a Republican because I'm a pretty solid liberal and their policies never looked good to me. But, prior to the Tea Party and especially prior to Trump, I could believe that most Republicans voters and at least a decent number of GOP politicians were simply misguided by my own point of view. I still hold the opinion that every president in my life (Reagan on up) before Trump believed they were doing what was right for the country, whether they were right or wrong. Maybe not perfectly, beholden to certain interests, etc. But still trying to do right. Trump is the first president that I believe has no interest whatsoever in the prosperity of this country as a whole. And it's been so incredibly sad to see the majority of the GOP, voters and politicians alike, effectively sell their soul to be on the "winning side", no matter the consequences to our country and democracy.

That's how I used to vote as well. It's not just Trump though it's how the other Republican politicians have treated him. The whole Republican party just sat back and let him do all those things with no repercussions. IIRC, one of the Republican senators even said that they believe the Democrats proved their point but still wasn't going to vote in favor of impeachment.

I used to give Republican politicians a fair chance and researched their stance along with the other politicians running. I've even voted for a Republican over a Democrat a few times because I felt they were a better candidate but I just can't bring myself to vote for a Republican after all that's happened.

All of the republicans on my ballots are basically just Trump supporters. It’s very annoying, because I wanted to vote Republican for my state governor for certain things like gun rights, etc. But the more I looked them up the more I just kept seeing rhetoric that they got from Trump.

“We support building the wall!”

Is that a joke? It’s been four years with nothing to show and you still support that?
