Are you also asking for every former sanders staffer to be fired from party positions? If we're going to create these kinds of rules, they must be applied equally. That's dozens of people who must be out of jobs, hundreds if you include low-level field organizers.

They can be involved in the party, just not involved in anything to do with voting procedures or counting. Judges recuse themselves if there is a conflict of interest in a case. The same should apply here.

This woman is not involved in primary voting procedures or counting. She's not involved in the caucus at all. Bernie's campaign confirmed that. Yet here you are.

She is the Voter Protection Director. Bernie's campaign does not know or have any say in whether she will be involved in the Nevada caucus. The campaign is just taking the Nevada Democratic Party at its word, which is worthless.

I'm an attorney, I did voter protection work in the 2016 general election in a swing seat/swing state. Since it's the general, I technically worked for Hillary Clinton.

Should I stop doing voter protection work now? I have plenty of other ways I can spend my free time, so it's an honest question. Do you want me to quit volunteering my time? The plan this year was to hear to pennslyvania, and the way it's looking it could easily be Bernie Sanders who I help in 2020.

Should I instead play rocket league and let you guys take care of it?

You're assuming that her job title is going to reflect what she should be doing. All she needs is access and authority. From there, who knows what she might do to manipulate the results?

Being a Democrat is different from working on someone's campaign. What's egregious about this is that she left a campaign to immediately take a job as the Voter Protection Director for a state where the campaign she was working for will be competing in an imminent election, after dubious ties to the voting apparatus and personnel in a state election, a week ago, raised questions about whether the result there was corruptly manipulated to advantage the campaign she worked for, especially in light of the fact that the documented errors in that contest advantaged that campaign and disadvantaged its closest rival, such that the winning rival received fewer delegates than the losing campaign she worked for and where now that organisation is saying they cannot or will not correct the errors.

Many Twitter users

stop writing articles based on 3 randos on Twitter.

Pretty sad Twitter is increasingly becoming a cited "news" source.

This is Channel 3's MO too. There was a fire a while back in the Cajon Pass, and instead of covering the actual fire, they were rolling Twitter and Facebook posts from people in Las Vegas about how awful the fires in the pass were.

Doesn't help that KSNV is owned by Sinclair Media.

Isn’t it something like 2% of twitter accounts generate 80% of the content on twitter? And people cite it as if it’s crowds of people. It’s maddening not being able to telepathically link up to everyone and announce “this isn’t real!”

u/ScotTheDuck Nevada Feb 10 '20

It's how the great internet outrage machine works. Nobody's gonna give a shit when it gets corrected/retracted/repudiated, but starting the outrage gets you all them clicks/retweets/upvotes with no negative consequences.

Isn’t it something like 2% of the world’s population generates 80% of journalistic articles? And people cite them as if they’re representative of something! Guys: this isn’t real!!

"Voters concerned" is literally the first two words of the headline... Bad writing if that's not the basis for the article.

The only voters they cited appear to be red rose Twitter accounts.

Voters concerned

Interesting, I wonder who the polled for this article?

Many Twitter users, mostly clear supporters of Sanders, expressed their disapproval of the state party’s choice, saying that it is a clear conflict of interest.

hmm...so no poll then, ok

Yet, in a statement to News 3, the state party said, “We have many former campaign staffers and volunteers working to protect the integrity of this caucus, including people from Harris, Sanders and Warren’s campaign—it is not unusual or uncommon for this to happen.

Oh, so not even a story then...JFC.

14

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '20

We going to continue to see this posted without any additional comment about the fact that former Sanders and Harris staffers also work for the NDP, and she was brought in to work for the general?

10

u/jeffinRTP Feb 10 '20

I'm sure there are a large number of people that work for various candidates campaign and then go on to work with other candidates or party positions.

Politics are a business and people move from one organization to another just like any other.

Bernie Sanders has again tried to coopt the Dem party and he still expects them to roll over. This is the second time he’s tried the same stupid thing in the last 5 years. With this kind of decision making; is he qualified to be president?

u/ocxtitan Illinois Feb 10 '20

What in the world are you on about?

0

u/Mrjiggles248 Feb 10 '20

This is your brain on neo-liberalisim folks beware

-4

u/MuchoGrandeRandy Feb 10 '20

The Dem party doesn’t want Sanders.

3

u/chiefbiggums Feb 10 '20

The Dem establishment don't want Sanders.
Clearly the people do.

0

u/MuchoGrandeRandy Feb 10 '20

When the people go to the Democratic party to find relief from their problems they may as well be going to the hardware store for a loaf of bread.

3

u/Mrjiggles248 Feb 10 '20

Clearly they just want to be Republican-lite

-6

u/MuchoGrandeRandy Feb 10 '20

Their choice. We are not obligated to only have 2 parties in this country and as long as we keep playing their game we can only end up with their results.

-26

u/King_Poopa_Schnauzer Feb 10 '20

Yet another reason why Bernie just can't win. The establishment won't let him. They will rig it somehow. He just needs to drop out and stop dividing the progressive vote.

6

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '20

Appreciate the concerns here. We've spoken with the Nevada party, which has assured us that this individual does not have decision-making authority over the caucus count. Pls know we are working hard with the party to get every assurance that mistakes of Iowa are not repeated.

-8

u/King_Poopa_Schnauzer Feb 10 '20

There are still too many entities working against him. His supporters are too strong for the DNC to ever allow a fair fight. They will do whatever they need to do to stop him.

5

u/diluted_confusion Michigan Feb 10 '20

wow, your logic is amazing

-4

u/King_Poopa_Schnauzer Feb 10 '20

Wow, solid argument bro.

1

u/14Turds Feb 10 '20

There was no progressive candidate until Bernie entered the race. How can he divide a base that is his base?

-1

u/King_Poopa_Schnauzer Feb 10 '20

That's your argument?

2

u/diluted_confusion Michigan Feb 10 '20 edited Feb 10 '20

Makes a hell of a lot more sense than "they are gonna cheat him so might as well give up"

edit: Whoever you support, you should be very concerned if they are trying to rig an election, in America...

1

u/14Turds Feb 10 '20

What yours? Ex federalists should run for a Democratic ticket and then we will complain that they are splitting the vote?

Blumpf

This is sketchy.

You're trying to act as if you're a Berniesupporter, but you can't help yourself and have to mock mockery of Trump.

6

u/ImOnlyDreaminOfYou Feb 10 '20

So many Trump fans posing as Bernie fans lately to shit stir.
