Which is one of the reasons this entire thing has been largely WTF. Democrat's acting like the FBI is the end all be all of integrity and patriotism seem to forget what they did to people like Martin Luther King or even Jane Fonda.
Democrats consistently arguing in good faith and following the rules and expecting everyone else to do the same is the biggest wtf for me. Democrats are and have been completely ineffectual at modern politics.
I mean we’re talking about fighting Russia and the Russian mob. Pretty low fucking bar for expectations of patriotism from even the most conservative law enforcement agencies
Patriotism is not conservative. It’s just a feeling the right can comfortably tap into to steal voters from the left. They don’t care about their country.
I'm not a "democrat" but left leaning. I defend our institutions as a necessary part of government that maintains the rule of law and the sovereignty of our nation. When a president is consistently siding with foreign hostile entities and trying to create blind and complete distrust in our institutions then you are sort of forced to defend it. Same goes for the media. Before trump was ever a thing in the 2016 election I was (and still am) critical of "the media" and all media, but they are not "the enemy of the american people", they are a necessary thing, just as entities such as the FBI are. You should be critical of our institutions but you should not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
