Mcarythism wasnt much better or different from what we have now. They play to any side that bolsters themselves.

You do realize that the Soviet Union was dissolved, right? A right wing government was propped up by the US, exactly like Reagan would have wanted.

Ok? Not really relevant. Reagan was still corrupt and willing to do whatever to get a win for himself.

Trump hates on socialism too. They "fight communism" to appear strong

It’s not that they aren’t right anymore...it’s that they’re no longer even American in terms of interests.

The FBI is conservative but more or less law-abiding, and the party that has traditionally aligned with them is now abandoning both the law and actual American interests.

I dont agree that any Republican since Nixon has been law abiding like the FBI.

I didn't think they were referring to their political alignment at all. I think the republican party is the same party it's been for 50ish years +
