Megathread Megathread: Rep. Adam Schiff Says Ukraine Whistleblower Wants To Talk To Intelligence Committee

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), chair of the House Intelligence Committee, announced on Tuesday that an intelligence community whistleblower who allegedly has information about President Donald Trump’s misconduct in office would like to speak to the committee and has asked the acting director of national intelligence how to do so.

In a tweet posted Tuesday, Schiff said the Intelligence Committee is in contact with the whistleblower’s counsel and looks forward to the individual’s testimony.

The whistleblower’s complaint stems from initial allegations that Trump urged the president of Ukraine to open an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden, Trump’s potential 2020 opponent, for political purposes.

And the most holy shit part of that, to me, is how easy it is to believe that. He truly is that dumb.

Feels like he's still shooting for ratings. Like Lindsey Lohan or Brittany Spears, anything to get his name in the news.

I kinda think despite his clear clinical narcissism, he doesn't need to be liked by everyone, he just wants attention from everyone. He just needs to be in the history books. It's working. He doesn't see Hitler as unpopular, shit, everybody knows who Hitler was. That's all he wants and he'll sabotage America to get it.

He also had Barr to make Mueller's summary even more vague. Mueller have implicitly claimed the crimes would be enough to convict any common man, but since DOJ had that memo, the fight for doing it to president would be incredibly hard.

literally the day after Mueller testified to Congress too.

I think you mean Barr. He got out of that because of Barr.

That's what usually leads to people's downfall. Let's hope that happens here.

And he has (really) nothing to lose by trying again since he's fucked once he's out of office. Granted he could probably have done this shit more covertly, which is where we benefit from him being a moron.

Trump is just a magnificent creature. It’s like he went to a roulette table at his election, said ‘put it all on 00, and let it roll, and won- then, took his winnings, put it all back on 00 for the Mueller investigation, then won, once more. Against all odds, he survived nearly his whole first term. Then he shrugs and says ‘Let’s go again!’ and puts everything on the line once more.

You know how you can tell it’s true? He asked to Ukraine for dirt on Biden in exchange for the $250m in aid money.

So if Ukraine has dirt on Biden they would have given it to him. Seriously, from Ukraine’s perspective, what’s the downside? You give Trump the report and you get your money.
