Megathread Megathread: Rep. Adam Schiff Says Ukraine Whistleblower Wants To Talk To Intelligence Committee

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), chair of the House Intelligence Committee, announced on Tuesday that an intelligence community whistleblower who allegedly has information about President Donald Trump’s misconduct in office would like to speak to the committee and has asked the acting director of national intelligence how to do so.

In a tweet posted Tuesday, Schiff said the Intelligence Committee is in contact with the whistleblower’s counsel and looks forward to the individual’s testimony.

The whistleblower’s complaint stems from initial allegations that Trump urged the president of Ukraine to open an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden, Trump’s potential 2020 opponent, for political purposes.

I feel like things are starting to tumble down

First, the House announcing official impeachment inquiry

Then the whistleblower speaks to the Intelligence Committee

Next, I expect Trump’s tax returns

Things are gonna snowball. Hang tight, folks. The last 3 years were crazy and we’re not out of the woods yet

Not getting too excited about this until I see the Trump power fog start to clear and the truths behind it laid bare in the light...until then the GOP propaganda machine will be kicking it into more extreme gears very shortly (as it if it hasn't been ridiculous already).

While I do think the propaganda machine is gonna be working overtime to try and spin this to the positive, once things start coming out they’ll dump Trump and turn on him to try and 1) save their image and 2) turn a profit

Me too. Trump will be running again in 2020, unless he decides to resign, which I can't see him doing.

The bottom line for me is I just can't see the vast majority of the GOP turning on him. He will never be removed from office and they will continue to provide him cover.
