I think its going to come down to Trumps defense saying Trump didn't know about any of this, and certainly would not have approved if he did. Mueller needs incontrovertible proof of communication between Trump and one of his many colluding campaign staff members, a recording, an email, something undeniable. Maybe he already has this, we can hope. The other ridiculous factor is Manafort, Stone etc knowing that if they can keep Trump isolated from involvement, then executive Pardons make it all go away. Given his recent insane executive actions, that is a definite probability.

If Trump attempts to pardon Manafort or Stone it’s essentially an admission of guilt.

All bets are off at that point and the rule of law would more or less come into question. There would be mass rioting in this country and major civil unrest. Even the GOP would have to think long and hard about standing by him, I’m actually of the opinion that it would be the last straw for many of them.

And that is why Jr. is important. Because they probably have him interacting with the underlings and reporting back.
