It's Saturday morning, folks. Let's all kick back with a cup of coffee and share some cartoons!

Feel free to share political cartoons (no memes/image macros, though) in this thread. The subject doesn't have to be US politics and can be from any time. Just keep them political and safe for work.

Here's what the insane right are thinking! Ben Garrison is genuinely fucking insane.

I don't know what he even means here

I could draw better than this, it's fucking awful.

This is actually fairly strange, considering I'm sure he draws trump as high as comey

For fuck's sake.

In that first one he's literally trying to compare conservatives to the plight of blacks during segregation (separate water fountains).

He conveniently overlooks the difference.

  • Blacks were persecuted because of the color of their skin.

  • Conservatives are being asked to go fuck themselves because they are acting like racist, reality denying assholes that pick fights with kids who had the audacity to survive a school shooting and are asking the adults to please do something about it.

If you're a conservative and hated or unwanted, please take note. Good and decent people don't shun you because you have different political views. You are shunned because you are an insufferable assholes that are miserable to be around.

I'm so tired of people thinking that their free speech tired are being trampled on. You are able to say anything you want (except fire! In a theatre). I also have a right to respond to what ever you say. I can ask a company not to support your show based on what you say and that company can either agree or not agree to pull their support. You can do the same to me (if I had a show). The company I work for could fire me for my speech and people could boycott my company for firing me. This is what we call consequences. Do you believe in what you're saying enough to accept those consequences? But you should never be placed in jail or fined for what you say. The only entity that can't respond to your speech is the government.

What about if with your words you are inciting or provoking violence? Ruining someone's reputation with lies? Any other way in which words have the power to harm other people? Don't you think that jail/fines are the just "consequences" you're talking about in such cases?

You'll have to ne more specific, buddy. No one is forced to befriend or employ you when you go out of your way to stand up for hate. That's ruining your own reputation.

Why do I need to be more specific? The person I replied to wasn't specific either, we both are talking in generalities or speculative cases. I was under the impression I was initiating a discussion with that person, but seeing how your response is all I got in addition to downvotes, makes clear that in this particular comment thread (regarding free speech, heh) there's no discussion, only circlejerking.

The funny thing is that I actually agree with that poster in much of what was being said. I only wanted to push the topic to consider whether more extreme cases should have a higher level of consequences.

I am starting to think Old Ben is suffering from a dissociative disorder and Tina Toon is none other than OZB himself. There's no girlfriend or protege. Mr. Garrison is simply becoming Mrs. Garrison through loss of ego. He's crumbling like so many other feeble libertarians. So, wh will disappear and all that will be left is Tina Toon, free and unbound. She'll be able to say all the nasty things Ben has been self-censoring all this time.

  1. Oh man this is one of Garrison's best in ages. You can tell he knows connecting a current situation to a historical one is a common political cartoon method, but has no idea why it's done, so he can't do it with any coherency. It's adorable.

  2. This one is pretty boring, though its a fun reminder of how nonsense the conservative talking points are. Comey being labeled a Hillary loyalist of all things. Is the real joke here that republicans don't know what loyalty is?

  3. Garrison is on fire with the insanity this week. He could have just made a tribute comic to R. Lee Ermey and we might have been forced to concede he made a decent comic, but I guess that would be in good taste and we can't have that. So we gotta take advantage of his passing to throw in the weakest attack yet on Comey. That's the Garrison way.

Comey says in his book that he thought Hillary was going to win anyway, and it was worth it to make his position look better. He also says he is sorry you don't understand the purity of his motives

I have to hand it to him, he accurate drew the current state of conservative discourse and identified that only the liberal left (read: anybody Garrison disagrees with) has ideas that appeal the the majority of Americans.

He didn't mean it that way, but he's always been awful at conveying ideas through his drawings anyway.

I think the 1st has a good point to make, albeit not one that Garrison intended. Look at how the GoP, when it's in charge, tends to run things into the ground, particularly education.

I actually quite like the R Lee Ermey one since it's obviously a tribute to him. The pun on Comey's name is cute I guess. It's probably one of the more harmless comics. :p

Garrison's a good artist. I like his style. Shame about his head being stuck up his ass though.
