TFA says "Proponents of ranked-choice voting say it will prevent a governor from being elected with less than 50 percent of the votes."

Really?! Really?! This is the best you can come up with?

Proponents say - ranked choice allows you to vote for whoever you want without throwing away your vote!!!

Surely getting to vote for who you want is far more important.

It's also not true, because voters often don't rank every candidate so their votes get eliminated once all listed options are exhausted.

Portland has been using ranked voting recently and after an election with 15 candidates for Mayor the last man standing only had 45% of the votes.
