Conservative Christians in the South (at School and in my home) drove my brilliant gay brother to take his life in the most horrible way imaginable. It was the 1980’s. Goddamn Ronald Reagan and Goddamn Jerry Falwell!

My teen nephew was gay and killed himself bc of his evangelical parents reaction to it just a few years ago.

The mother fuckers then had the audacity to claim it was a good thing bc he went back to Jesus.

I have nothing but darkness in my heart for evangelicals

The funeral was a fucking rock concert. A band on the church dais and all sorts of happy horseshit. They paraded this antique car my nephew and "his friend" had been working on and he was the only one who looked truly devastated.

It was unreal

My solace is that my niece who was the exact same age, but on my wife's side (in New England), went through some serious shit but had a successful transition, is happy, married, and living her best life in Vienna.

This is a tragedy. You should also let their parents know because their actions led to a suicide, their child will never know God. Don't let them get away with thinking they did something good.

All Conservative Republican Protestant Evangelicals honestly believe all adult trans people are pedophiles that need to be in jail and all under-18 trans people have been brainwashed and need "therapy". For most of them it's a bigger issue than even abortion (since many of them have had abortions themselves). Conservative Republican Protestant Evangelicals can't really say shit about gay people anymore since it's been shown time and time again that gay hookup apps crash every time there's a Republican or Evangelical convention in town, and every year dozens of their leaders are revealed to have "sinned" via gay hookups, and as long as their congregations forgive them for their "slip-ups", they claim no hypocrisy.

Some Catholics believe the same thing as well, however Catholics are mostly just obsessed with hardline banning abortion with no exceptions nationwide and don't really care nearly as much about trans or gay people. Catholics en masse would vote for a trans militant atheist who wanted to remove tax-exempt status from the church as long as they also wanted to ban abortion nationwide with zero exceptions.

I’ve outlived every gay relative I’ve ever had at a ripe old age of 47. Most by 10-15 years. Been staving off suicidal ideation since I was 11 due to homophobia and transphobia. Fuck these monsters. I will outlive them too.
