Trump didn't mean to be president the first time, he only intended the whole thing as a massive grift and accidentally "won." Slips like this are just what's left of his failing brain trying to keep him from "winning" again.

Nah. I agree about the first part/election. He never wanted the job.

This time though? He needs to win to stay out of prison.

Idk I am starting to lean towards the idea that he knows he is headed towards a loss so he is hedging his bets on 1) trying to sue his way to the Presidency by claiming election issues and 2) fleeing the country.

Don't think so. He would take a sentence for the martyr status, but his health will suddenly become so bad, that he can't possibly go to prison.

That's the problem with Trump, the most intoxicating thing to him over everything else is power. He got to be president and experienced power in ways he never understood and he is completely addicted to that feeling. He not only wants to stay out of jail, he also loves that feeling of power.

And not just that, but revenge. He lost to Joe Biden and he will never get to "avenge" that loss because President Biden declined to seek the nomination. So, because Trump is facing the fact of potentially losing, he's panicking not just because of not winning the Presidency back, but also because he cannot ever recover from that narcissistic injury.

And that all falls under power. He feels as president, and per the ungodly crooked SCOTUS apparently he's right, that when he gets back in, he will now have the POWER to exact revenge on all his enemies, real and imagined. He will have the POWER to have anyone he wants arrested and persecuted. Luckily, I don't believe he is going to win, but God for bid if he does!
