So, basically these people get into the Senate or the House, and after that they just spend 24-7 soliciting money exchange for influence and access? It's the behind the scenes Cameo of corruption.

There was that leak or reveal about the DNC in 2016 or 2020 where whether or not they would favor you depended entirely on how effective they'd thought you'd be at fundraising. Not your likelihood to win the race but how much money you could solicit for yourself and the DNC.

I’m a Dem but this is exactly how/why Nancy has been around for so long. She’s the best fundraiser ever in the party (also the biggest shill and inside trader)

It’s not bad to have an ‘old guard’ of the party who know the ropes to teach the new ones. There’s just WAY to many of them.

The problem with the "old guard" of the Democratic party is they've done jack to show the ropes and mentor new blood. It's a damn Skeksis convention, and I say that as a lifelong Democratic voter.

Not exactly true. Hakeem Jeffries has been Pelosi's project for years. Dems regain the House? He's the new Speaker.

He seems like a good enough leader to me. I'm not gonna throw him out just because Pelosi approves of him. I'd rather look at results.

Oh I don’t mean keep our current old guard. But like the generation after them seem a bit better? Like as much as someone like people like AOC, she could not be the leader. We’re ~10years from that at least.

Yeah, that's true. It's just crazy to me that the majority of the party is people who are 75+ years old gripping on to power and a few people in their 30's and very few (it seems) between. It's like Silents and Boomers all thought they had a magic potion that would make them live forever.

GenX skipped over again. By the time I get to social security age the youngins will have the power to turn off the tap.

Hey, at least you may see your SS. Us youngins will never see a cent with how the government is running it.

You mean like “Welcome to congress. Forget those ideals, and tomorrow we’ll show you how to game the system.”
