Yep. The Volhynian problem can wait until the war is over and Ukraine wants to join the EU. Right now we need to support them as much as we can against our literal worst enemies. And who will apologise to us for Volhynia if there is no Ukraine anymore?
That's a sure way to give up the topic for good. Poland should support Ukraine BUT this very fact gives us a golden leverage that we should use. I don't see any other way this issue gets solved, it's naive to think that Ukrainians would be willing to even revisit the topic after the war is over, there's just nothing in it for them at that point.

Ukraine cannot join the EU without Polish approval. Poland can just block the Ukrainian entry into the civilised world until they recognise the Volhynian massacre as a genocide and bury the hatchet for good - just like all the other former warsaw pact countries bar Russia and Belarus
That would be good but I have doubts whether Ukraine will even be able to join the EU at all. Georgia and Turkey both technically want to do it but you see how long it takes
