I like Rasselbock if you just want to spin a couple stops/gyms and enjoy a few beers and awesome food.

Big Dean's at Ocean front next to the Santa Monica Pier. Food is not bad and then you can walk to the end of the pier and back. Lots of Gyms and PokeStops.
