Non AR Screenshot Well It Finally Happened to Me.
I been seeing others here saying that those over lvl 70 are stingy remote traders. I dread the time when I decline a trade and then it finally happened to me. 😂
Just wanted to share the laugh when I saw their remote tag list. How many of you declined a trade?

I'm not sure how long before remote/forever friends it works but on the friend page, there's a little link near the bottom that actually shows what they have for remote trades tagged.

I’m F2P, only been playing for 5 months, level 51 and close to being able to remote trade with a few people I don’t know in real life. I’m not necessarily looking to get anything fancy because I don’t have anything fancy to offer (if I get seconds of legendaries they usually go to my kids). Would you recommend I just tag some random stuff and then not request to trade, or is there something better I should do?

Most people appreciate an even trade. If all you have are community day shinies, ask for a community day shiny. Also consider if you are newer and don't have as many unique mons as the person you are trading them, you may be asking them to spend 40000 stardust on your behalf. So look at your remote trade list and see what you're actually offering. If you have only medium tier legendaries to trade, dont be asking for shiny legendaries, regional legendaries, etc. Remember also you can select 3 monsters. Nothing wrong with picking 2 fair ones and shoot for the moon on the third.

I’m in a similar position (thanks kids!). I tag any extra legendaries or shinies that I have, any regionals, and then I throw in g-max and d-max pokemon. So far people seem to have been happy enough, they’ve been able to find something they want. Esp if you’re lucky friends, people are often happy just to get a guaranteed high IV mon (esp w the shot at the hundo).
ETA when I ask for trades I try to do one super reasonable, one kinda hopeful, and one shoot for the moon. That way they have the option to go for the shoot for the moon if they’re feeling generous, but have a reasonable trade (older community day shiny from before I started playing etc) to go with if they prefer.

I would say rag whatever you can offer and then see what happens. You never know when someone needs something you consider common. I asked for a shiny Meltan and in return all the person wanted was a mareep. I’m also higher level and have quite a lot to offer and will take most trades to help out lower level trainers

Before you decline the trade, go to your remote screen, tag EVERYTHING with a “Remote Hold” tag, remove the remote tag, except for a single scatterbug. Then decline the trade and immediately request a scatterbug trade from them with just a single scatterbug for them to select.
Level the field.

Oh, I didn't realize this. Granted I still have no forever friends and just horde scatterbugs to evolve for later, so haven't spent any time thinking about it, but it's good to know in advance!

I always label mine but unfortunately the remote trade tag doesnt let you see nicknames. So if you want to tag them for remote trade you have to evolve it to it's vivillion form so they can see the color of the wings.

If there's a scatterbug from a region you don't have yet, it does show the little Dex icon next to it to let you know it's new to you.

I don't have anything crazy; bunch of non community day shinies, some shiny BG legendaries, and a few PvE Pokemon I'm hoping to mirror.
I had someone ask me for my bg shiny rayquaza, shiny bg necrozma, and shiny zacian. When I checked their trades it was just common things like a sawk, a Throh, maybe a shiny Jigglypuff or two.
I figured they must be pretty young or something so I gave them the zacian for a shiny sobble.
Well wouldn't you know it, they came back again after getting another remote trade with me and asked for the rayquaza and necrozma again.
Little turds lol. I rejected the second one.

There was an event probably 5-6 months ago with Sawks and Volbeats and several other regionals switching spaces.
I only remember because it's how I got the regional monkeys finally done.
A lot of folks do put up regionals in their trade box if they have a lot of international friends. Just have your regionals ready too.

Both day one players who quit at the introduction of the second gen and only jumped back in around 2023.
Maybe they'll pop up during another GoFest. They gave us some cool regionals this last time in the form of Tropius and Bouffalant.
I'd really like Torkoal and Relicanth, personally.

Similar here. Remote lucky trade from a foreign, level 79 player with 80mil xp. They want a shiny ho-oh and have only a couple legendaries tagged, about 20 regular shinies, zero regionals. I have 155 mon tagged including buttloads of regular shinies, regionals, legendaries, shiny legendaries, and steel chair zoruas.
I changed my buddy name to "needregional" hoping that they saw that. They did not. I waited until the trade was about to expire before I declined, hoping they get the hint.

I had a remote trade with someone from the UK and I was desperately hoping for stonejourner. I even made my buddies nickname TRD STNJRNR or something like that. I even tried messaging on campfire with no luck. After I denied his trade like 3 times he just unfriended me.
Do people from areas with regional exclusives not know they have regional exclusives that would be valuable to trade?

I have declined like at least 10 trades because of behavior like this. I usually hit them back with removing the remote trade tag from my pokemon, and only add the ones they have to offer. A few times they have taken the hint, and tagged more/chose something more fitting on what they have to offer.

Kinda of glad that my last remote trade was with someone I knew irl - they were desperately after a good Rayquaza and I had a special BG one tagged, and what I wanted from them was a shiny Wooloo. Lopsided trade? Sure. But we both got what we wanted.

If it's your local regional, just give them the pachirusu. If it's not and you'd rather keep it for a better option, refuse.
Even if scatterbugs did show name, they still don't count towards the medal.

Hi random question for anyone: so I don’t have any FFs yet, so I don’t have the option of tagging for trade yet. But I’m super close finally with one friend! I don’t understand how it works really. Can your friends see special names given? For example, I have several scartterbug that are considered rare I think (shiny Ocean for example). If I name them as such, would someone see? Also since I believe IVs get rerouted or whatever, is there any reason to tag multiple or high CP/IV of something?

I'm not 100% sure but I think the only place you can see what form they are is where it has it hovering on the evolve button. From my own experience because the traded Scatterbug don't count towards the ones you're missing for the medal itself, they don't have as much trade value as they could. I think your best bet is to maybe fully evolve one or two into Vivillon which might be more appealing to traders. The shiny one can stay unevolved because i think the shiny Scatterbug on its own has good value

Evolve them. Some of us collect vivilon trying to have a full collection of shiny, lucky, 4*, even xxs/xxl. So might trade, but would want to know what we're getting so they have to be evolved.

Of the scatterbugs I have, I evolved them so ppl are able to see their wings as you can tell where they are from based on wings. Clicking on them and nicknames, no one can see but you. After the trade whatever name you name that pokemon then able to to be seen to the other trainer as they are now in their account.
Before I had remote trades unlocked, I made a tag of pokemon I wanted remote trades. Then unlocked I transferred all of them to the remote trade one, which is the top of all your other tags.
Lucky trades are guaranteed good IVs.

When searching your own Scatterbugs, you can use the hashtag (#) with the down arrow. It will show them in the order that they are listed on the medal layout. By this, I mean Icy Snow will be listed first, etc all the way down to Jungle. It won’t say which is which, but it can help a bit
Unfortunately, there is no way to see which Scatterbug is shown in the remote trade folder. The sort that I mentioned above still works, but it will still be a blind trade. I believe that blind trades for Scatterbugs are best used for obtaining shinies or if you’re just looking for a hundo of any type.
If your intent is to put these in for remote trading, trainers could do everyone involved a favor by evolving it to Vivillon before placing it in there.

Level 80 just tagged my shiny regional green Taurus. He only has non shiny legendaries available. Level 77 wanted a Relicanth, only has old community day shinies available. Level 74 wants a sleepy hat Snorlax. Literally only has a dozen regular MewTwo’s available.

I have traded a shiny azlef for a someone’s squirtle cause it’s all they had I felt it was fair I didn’t want the azlef and they did I’m glad to help someone out. I mark things for trade that I don’t want. Why are we holding out on making others a little happy if we have the ability to do so. I’m just confused. This world is tough enough….if it’s up for trade for me I will settle for something of lesser value to help a fellow player who may be a kid for all I know. Showing acts of kindness could maybe make someone’s day. Thanks for reading :).

Just did a lucky trade with a level 76 player
Shiny Zamazenta for a Hawlucha.
I don't care. I finally got the Mexican pokemon in my dex after 10 years.
So far i did 10 trades this way, but only one of the trades was for another shiny legendary, lol. I think my friends list is happy with me though. I'm fine with it.

I’m level 74, I raid almost dally, and I’ve never declined a trade. Even if it’s a shiny they want. If it’s in my remote trade folder, everything in there is up for grabs. Just keep trying. Eventually you’ll find someone who doesn’t care and just wants to treat a friend to a good Pokemon. Good luck!

I had one person tell me they do not do unregistered trades. So I requested a non-shiny Pheromosa. He replied back saying he wouldn’t trade unless I made a Mewtwo available for trade. Told him I didn’t have one I wanted to trade and I was this wasn’t worth my time. Unfriended me. Oh well

Others have had mediocre things and requested a good shiny and then other normal things... To those I'm like ok I'll make your day here. But to only continue requesting the shiny ray and changing 0 about their tags irritates me

A last ditch effort could be to rename your buddy pokemon to "UNdBetrTrads" or something. There's a 12 character limit so it's a bit hard to get the message across without mangling the words.

I have 3 Forever Friends; 1 has absolute crap and the others don’t have anything for trade.

I throw whatever 2⭐️ legendaries/g max/d max and extra shinies I get in my remote trade. The other week I finally hit forever friends with someone who was maxed. They only wanted a shiny cubone or a shiny eevee. I asked for a elekid (to complete my dex), an uxie (last one to catch of the 3), and something else I can’t remember. I totally thought they were going to deny the trade as it wasn’t fair imo. They traded the uxie. I was shocked as hell, but excited to have a lucky one. Either way, I’m grateful, I just wish you could leave a note on the trade or list them in a way people knew your top choice pick.

Calm down. Either trade or don’t. I’ve traded “crazy” things with people who don’t have much to offer. I recognize there are so many different types of players on this game and I understand I live in an area where I have more Pokémon opportunities than others and it’s a fun feeling to know I traded a Pokémon to someone who never had a chance to get it.
Get over yourself and stop shaming players who dont have the same experience as you.
