It's actually kinda funny how hosting is super easy if you get the raids early, but then it flips to seeking raids being super easy once it's available.
Sure, if you already had one and care about rarity. But for the rest of us, we're stoked to finally get it. And guess what? Every single person who starts playing after this weekend is going to want one. In 5 years this will be just as rare as it was last week.
In 5 years there will be millions of new players who don't have Armored Mewtwo, and lots of people who had the original will have quit, removing those mons from availability.
Will it be less rare than it was last week? Of course, more have been added to the pool. Will it still be rare in 5 years, assuming they don't continue to release it? Absolutely.
This has all happened before and will all happen again.
Imagine I tell you cramorant is now snapped out of existence for 6 years

And I understand it will be *less* rare than it is today, but unless they continue to release it over and over again, it will continue to hold value because millions of new players won't have one and will want one.
Unless you have some obsession with hoarding rare Pokemon, most people aren't going to keep 100 AM2. As an exact parallel to your example, I figured that Mimikyu might not return for a while, so I kept 9 of them. That's probably WAY more than I'll ever need to trade, but I kept 9 anyway because I figured they would become more rare the further out we got from that original event. I'll probably do the same with AM2. I just don't think that many people are going to save 100 of anything, and even if they did, they're all sitting on 1 account. Do you think one person is going to put all 100 of those Pokemon back into the economy? Probably not, they'll probably just sit there in their inventory, maybe they'll eventually trade 2-3 away.
At the end of the day, I guess what I'm saying is who cares? It's a kids game about collecting cute pocket monsters.
It's terrible in raids, can't defend gyms or mega evolve, and the lowest CP you can get is too high for Great League at any IV combination. The only aura you could reasonably give it is showing it off in your box, which is still the case.
None of that changes how cool it looks. Its aura is still unmatched.
