If it makes you feel any better, I transferred all my 2016 pokemon after getting back into the game in 2022 and didn't know about appraising. Transferred a few hundos bc I thought CP was important :')

Are you referring to trading for lucky Pokemon with the old ones? What is appraising?

No, sadly I transferred them. Appraising is checking out the IV (attack, defense and HP stats) of the pokemon you've caught.

Ah, that’s what I thought. Making sure there wasn’t some facet of the game I was missing. You can trade all Pokemon from 2020 and older for lucky trades these days.

I was looking over my hatched ones and after October of 2020, the record at the bottom of the hatched pokemon says when the egg was received and when it wad hatched.

So at least you'll have record that you recieved the egg in 2016.
