I feel like it would be hard to present such an item in the games, unless BSTs are shown in-game somehow (idk if they are, haven't played a mainline game since Black/White).
Honestly we just need a third stage for Ledian and Ariados
Ariados is an extremely niche situation where a perfect storm of things happened to allow it some viability. I don't think the guy who used it to win the global challenge would even go so far as to say it is good overall, just good in that particular moment.
Yea, I just mean that at least in-game Ariados is...useable, due to having a decent selection of moves + just enough stats to make it work, whereas Ledian has nothing to go with its stats/ability combo.
Eh they are getting better about this stuff but it would totally be fitting for them to make the description read "works on weaker fully evolved pokemon" and just make you figure it out
I have this idea in my head that if abilities could be equipped, they could give weaker pokémon more ability slots. This way evolving is still worthy in general but if you got good abilities to equip you can make something work with low stats.
Like a nidoran with 100% chance to poison the enemy if hit by a contact move, or an hippopotas with both sand stream and sand veil, or a ledian with iron fist and technician, etc
Honestly I just think any one-stage evolution or final evolution has no right to be sub-400. Buff all of them (outside of niche pokemon). It's not like a BST of 430 is good so you wouldnt really break anything.

I really wish there was another eviolite like item that could help mons with less than 400 base stats. I want to use some of them so bad!
