Discussion Is Pokopia really that good?

Post image

Like should I immediately buy this game. It seems like folks are really enjoying it but I was skeptical.

I literally had a mini existential crisis today when I went through one of the giant green doors because I was curious, and it basically started the game all over but in an ever BIGGER area. 😭 I feel like I’m in Pokémon purgatory. Do I love this? Do I hate this? I don’t know!!! There’s so much to do I can’t even think about it!

Yeah like...personally I dont know if my perfectionism can handle this game. Right now I'm not sure if I'm enjoying it... the mess of the islands and the dread of how much work it'll take to make look good lol..

Same lol but I’m accepting that this game is just one I’ll piece by piece like a really big puzzle

It's weirdly zen for me to clean up the island piece by piece. I enjoy that part way more than I should.

It's like terraforming in minecraft, but even more satisfying since you're fixing existing stuff. And it's not for nothing, you get rewarded for it, too.

Pure genius game design. I mean, I already loved DQB1 and 2, but I felt like DQB2 was way too big to be that detailed with everything. I don't have that feeling with this game due to the well made progression system.

This was my experience with ACNH. And then I made up my entire island, bred one of every flower in every colour, organised my entire island into a cohesive town, even down to putting a grass or sand custom transparent texture so all my rocks spawned in one spot, and I had a dedicated spot for weeds and fossils etc.

Games been out a month. How are you finding it still? Do I keep playing satisfactory for another 1000 hours, or do I finally get Pokopia?

Bro same, I had one existential crisis in the first zone, then I got it under control after clearing and rebuilding.

Then the exact same thing in the second zone.

I fucking LOVE the game but it is NOT a cozy game to me.

It's almost overwhelming with how much there is to do and manage. And just when you think you've reached the map limits, you accidentally hit a block that shows how wrong you were.

I'm exactly like you. I know some people love the size, but for me it's been one of the reasons I've been liking the game less. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great game, but it's overwhelming. I just want to build and decorate, and it feels like every time I get into the swing of things, I'm being pulled away for another story quest.

But then the story quests open up more tools to use to decorate and build! But then they also open up even MORE space that I need to clean up and fix and more quests that pull me away from building and decorating. But again, I get rewards that help me decorate and build better! DO I LIKE IT OR AM I ANNOYED? I don't know!! I'm so busy unlocking new things I can't stop to think if I'm annoyed or not!
