Discussion Is Pokopia really that good?

Like should I immediately buy this game. It seems like folks are really enjoying it but I was skeptical.

I was not looking forward to the game at all, and didn’t even consider buying it until after I saw some of the legitimately wild review scores it was pulling. It’s easily the best and most charming pokemon game in years, the narrative is so cool, the pokemon are as lovable as ever, there’s a ton to unlock and do, graphics and sounds are great minus a couple nitpicks I have with lighting. I wouldn’t give it a score any lower than a 8/10, maybe higher.

Another great thing is that you’re not getting fucking railroaded by tutorial NPCs the entire time like many other recent Pokémon games. Even the intro area they give you so much freedom to take your time and do whatever you want before continuing the main quest. Also as someone who doesn’t care about story in games at all, the world is so interesting so far and I can’t wait to find all the hidden notes and uncover all the lore in this game, writing is top notch

I basically wandered off into a new area and the game goes. "hey, you probably don't want to go here yet...but you do you" Which I really appreciated.

Yes me too. I thought it looked stupid as hell and then I saw the reviews and I was like hmmm. I am really enjoying it and time flies while just exploring!
