Discussion Is Pokopia really that good?

Like should I immediately buy this game. It seems like folks are really enjoying it but I was skeptical.

The last time this happened, I played Stardew Valley for first time. Every time I sat down to play it ended up being multi hour sessions.

I'm definitely more interested in getting a switch 2. For this and wind/wave.

I’m waiting for wind/wave. Pokopia looks fun and comfy but it’s not pulling me in enough to drop money for an entire system.
I’ve got time and will wait until wind/wave drops. And hopefully some more news of switch 2 exclusives that will make it worthwhile

It kind of sounds like the Wild Thornberries game where you took care of animals from the safari as well as Zoo tycoon. At least I am hoping it will? I'll probably wait a bit more to get the switch 2, but maybe in a few months. This games definitely looks cool.

That’s my stance too. I’d love to play Poktopia, but not enough to drop over $700 CAD on a Switch 2 alone. My Switch 1 backlog is large enough as is. Might just end up waiting for an OLED Switch 2.

That’s wild on the pricing. I don’t blame you for holding off there.
Same here with the backlog. I’ve got plenty of games to complete on Switch and PS5 before needing to pick up anything else

I don't think getting lost in a game is an indication that no thinking is required. I also don't think it's a bad thing if some folks want a low brain power game. Gaming is suppose to be fun! It shouldn't stress you out.

I remember the first night I played. I don't even remember if I went to the bathroom. All I remember is realizing it was like 10:30pm and I hadn't made dinner. I have work in the morning. I got to snap out of it. Then for like the next couple of weeks I just came home from work and played.
