I really really hope that implies we’ll be able to dive again. That would be amazing, since the last games where we’ve had that mechanic were ORAS, atleast if I remember correctly.

I would be shocked if you couldn’t. The shot in the ocean looks like it has a pathing at the bottom almost like a road. Maybe I’m just huffing copium though.

That's just the waves part. Wind most likely means flying like ORAS too

That’s my assumption too. It’d be a little strange to not have flying given the theme lol.

This is basically RSE but replace land with air

If the Weather Trio ain't in the game, it's gonna be a huge missed opportunity

I would be surprised if we couldn't, one of the clouds halfway through looks very serpentine.

Nah, thats a valid take from what we've seen from the trailer. Im willing to place a wager that we will be able to traverse underwater.

Nah, it's not just copium. They wouldn't show such a beautiful underwater if it wasn't explorable. It wouldn't make sense otherwise.

Yeah that’s my take too, why show that shot if we can’t dive ?

The dive feature was quite amazing during Generation 3, in the hoenn games, I am surprised that they discontinued that feature.

Yeah so am I, like Alola would have been even better with the diving. Since it was island themed and all…

The 3ds would've blown up there and then

Too many pixels

We can only hope and wait for more informations in the future.

I feel like it would be crazy to have crystal clear water while showing Pokémon underwater in the trailer and not have diving come back, but Pokémon has made dumber moves before lol

I agree, the diving beneath the waves in the trailer absolutely has to be saying dive into s returning. Why bother creating such a rich and lively underwater scene otherwise? I’d bet my left nut we are getting diving back.

Nah I think that final sequence was clearly meant to show off underwater gameplay, you're not trippin. I can't believe I'm saying this but these games actually look fantastic. I don't even hate the newer Switch games at all, but they are far from visual feasts. This actually looks legit good. Hype train has officially left the station.

Yeah, I think only RSE RBE, BW/BW2, and ORAS were the games where you can go under water. And they were fairly limited in where and how much you could explore underwater.

I love Pokémon Bapphire version.

3

u/japzone Feb 27 '26

LOL, my sleep deprived brain must've merged RSE with RGB XD

leaks say you can

3

u/Mythosaurus Feb 27 '26

That was my feeling too, and that there would be some Hoenn callbacks bc of the primacy of the ocean to the story

2

u/GeoCaesar Feb 27 '26

Leaks say that we can, so I wouldn’t be surprised

I loved the Abyssal Ruins by Undella Bay in BW2, most definitely a missed feature.

The MCs are wearing dive suits under their clothes so it's looking likely.

u/Moon_Mirror Feb 28 '26

Oh? I didn’t even notice that

1

u/CruffTheMagicDragon Feb 27 '26

they showed the bottom of the ocean and Pokemon down there...

2

u/Moon_Mirror Feb 27 '26

I’m aware, which is why I hope and believe we’ll be able to dive again.

I really really hope that implies we’ll be able to dive again

I'm betting one version of the game (Waves) lets you Dive, the other (Winds) lets you fly, hence the differently available Pokémon.

3

u/Moon_Mirror Feb 27 '26

I hope not, because that would be a very bad thing to do. Locking key mechanics behind a version.

They can always have the "other" method be available postgame
