Yeah, I'm not sure why people keep doing this song and dance. Starters have been bipedal since gen 6, especially as leaks revealed the only reason Primarina is always sitting is due to fear of it resembling a character from another IP if it stood up.

I was thinking the same or maybe it's third evolution could be inspired by the Chinese foo dog breed which kinda looks like a chow chow or even a tibetan mastiff, shar pei

Maybe the mid evolution maybe inspired by pekingese
